Regarding MMORPGs and Diablo.

Diablo 2, Is not a MMORPG FFS! I am super mad right now, because it seems like a massive army of retards has assembled to piss on one of the greatest game companies of all times. Not only to they try to push Blizzard down, they are fucking up the genres of games!!!

Let me explain to all of the retards out there who hasn't got the idea of the Diablo franchise is not a MMORPG.

Massively Multiplayer - Means that there can be 100+ players online on at the same time. Examples, WoW, Guildwars(In towns), DDO everywhere except for dungeons.

Online - You can only play the game online.

RPG - Obvious.

It's like calling CoD a fucking MMORPG!

 

Diablo 3 will not be a WoW clone. KTHXBYE

    Guild Wars developers themselves said that GW is not an MMORPG, so that's pretty cut and dry.  If people want to call GW an MMORPG then I can understand using similar logic to call Diablo an MMORPG.  Neither are an MMORPG, but if you want to incorrectly confuse an RPG you play online with a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER online game (towns - lol), then go for it.

    MMORPG is a horrible and increasingly redundant term anyway.

    Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

    You have a valid point, but the difference in MMO way from GW to Diablo is HUGE!

    GW can't be played offline.

    Im with the op there are a lot of super smarties out there that are so dam ... dumb. That it makes me want to shoot my own face to escape the reality that they exists. (Dumb not becuase of cognitive ability but becuase of ignorance of reality and facts)
