MMORPG.com has scored a brand new columnist to take over the Player Perspectives article series. Self-confessed 'altoholic', Isabelle Parsley brings a new voice to the MMORPG.com team, one that we're sure you will appreciate. Find out more about Isabelle "Ysharros" Parsley in her inaugural column and then say 'hi' on the forums!
My very first MMO was Turbine’s Asheron’s Call, which I started playing almost exactly a decade ago, back in October or November 2000. Sure, I’d played a few single-player RPGs in the 90s, but that first MMO was like a different world. A huge world! With loads of other, real people! All running around in my world!

hi
Hello.
So before we get in to all of this gamey shtuff (which is fun), what happened to Jaime Skelton? I'm behind... very behind.
MMO's played: Ragnarok Online (For years), WoW (for a few weeks only), Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Eve, Allods, Shattered Galaxy, 9 Dragons, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Star Trek Online (Got someone ELSE to pay for it), Champions Online (Someone else paid), Dofus, Dragonica, LOTRO, DDO and more... A LOT more. I've played good AND bad. The bad didn't last long. :P
Welcome to MMORPG! I have to agree that first world is always the best world. My first one was Everquest in '99 and my rose colored glasses just won't come off for it. Also, I'd really enjoy reading that column you mentioned in your article!
He who keeps his cool best wins.
Jaime decided her time here was done and left.
Now you're up to date.
And a hearty welcome to the fresh meat!

Hi...and Hello, My name is ____ and I am an altaholic. :-P
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
why do people think it's so cool when they spell things wrong? O Hai Thar? well this should be interesting.....
*waves*
Nice intro. AC was pure bliss for me in those days
"Seasoned" woman MMO gamer, tabletop friendly, altaholic, gamehopper, non-raider who likes reading about raiding... I thought I was the only one out here.
Looking forward to your columns!
Can't wait to see the caricature. :P
You have just been trolled.
You are officially part of the family.
Welcome.

Hey, welcome! Looking forward to reading your column, the Shark Pool is not that bad
Hello Isabelle and welcome to MMORPG.COM
Really liked your introduction. and I have to say that we are almost from the same background(game wise), and we share a lot of common traits as a gamer. I am also a altoholic. And love to explore new worlds. And you have a different approach to the gaming that I really appreciate.
I am a seasoned gamer from Sweden that just turned 40
Also nice that you are a women. You are here needed IMHO.
Regards from Patsuriku
Hiya Isabelle, aka Ysharrows, and best of luck to you from a (sometimes) closet altaholic.
You are right, Jamie's are big shoes to fill but you've done a great job with yo're opening piece.
Looking forward to reading more of your stuff
Its intentional I suspect. Its something called LoLcat. Look here.

whats happenin?
WOW.... another lady gamer who doesn't enjoy raiding much, but has been in the games for quite some time, like me. Nice! Enjoyed reading your intro piece! Thanks for sharing! I've been in EQ2 now since February 2006, but I've also played a good bit of WoW, and I've tried ouit LoTRO, along with a few others. But I cut my gaming "teeth" on Neverwinter Nights... and Dungeon Siege - both solo RPG games, but they were great. I tried out NWN in the MMO format but somehow just wasn't able to get immersed in it. Think I was too addicted to Everquest 2 at the time . But anyway, great to hear from you and looking forward to reading future columns by you. (P.S. - I'm no teenager either! *wink*)
Hi and welcome to mmorpg.com , it's nice to see that some female gamers are out there. Being a male who got into gameing when it was pen and paper, there wasn't alot of female gamers when i started playing and it's nice to see that there are more female gamers playing now then there was when i started gameing. I think it's something everyone of different ages and genders should try atleast once.
Everybody run its the grammar police!!
And Hai Thar Isabelle welcome to massivelymoaningoverroleplayinggames.com
Far from the only one, since I fit that category too. Welcome aboard Isabelle, and cinch up the armor!
Another female gamer who doesn't raid, just like m.... wait, that's not me. nvm
Anyway, I read opinions on the Internet all the time. Blogs, forums, etc., I can't wait to see how yours is unique.
so...
It won't be. This site is beyond "unique" at this point. It's basicaly a bunch of mediocre writers trying to be as controversial as possible, while going out of their way to actually not offend the clients (game publishers) who pay for the advertisements.
Hey staff, let's splurge some more appologist BS like "What TOR isn't" and "STO is rated 7.4." Honestly though, stop making articles for the sake of making articles.
Welcome.
Hope you have tough skin, cause the dogs will incessantly nip (or outright bite) you in your posts.

Welcome! I remember Archeron's Call, even downloaded the first client when it went online, but i could never play it because online games were too much for our dial-up, and i had to wait almost until 2005 to play my first mmo.
