Does Square Enix prepare for next game or endless patches for FF14?

Been waiting for FF14 for years since FFXI came to an end. Now really lose any faith to place my hands on this Score 4.0 mmorpg. So does SE going to develope another new game or continously patches for FFXIV?

this game will not be put to grave yet. at least till ps3 launch and even a year more. if it still does not change declining playerrate it will be shutdown. it will never be f2p that is for sure.
but as it comes to this: most ffxi players wait till ps3 launch and then start on with it. so there will be a big boost to come in march 2011
They need to listen to the people tthat are still playing the game and willing to stick it out in hopes of the game getting better. The damage has been done and the game will never be what it could have been so at least give the true fans what they want.
It's kind of confusing what you talking about. Square Enix or Sony Entertainment.
Sony Entertainment always keep making new MMO. I think they have a new MMO comoing soon.
I doubt Square Enix will make any new MMO any time soon.

arh ok. how many MMORPG does SE own right now? I thought they owned a few more low budget ones.
I think there's already some low budget MMORPG in the making isn't it? But I don't think there be any major anytime soon. I'm not sure if they ever had some big budget MMO other than FFXI
SE only has 2 MMO's, FFXI and FFXIV. Mainly they do single player RPG's. Kingdom Hearts and the Final Fantasy frachises are their biggest sellers.
I see a list of online project from the japanese/chinese square enix wiki. Alot of which have been terminated.
It's mainly cheap asian f2p games.
They have a game called concerto gate. The first version is only released in asia and is now terminated. Concerto gate 2 is still going on in asia. They thought of releasing concerto gate 2 in the west, but the western publisher bailed. There actually was a beta for it, but I dont' think it gets enough attention so it don't end up getting published.
Fantasy Earth zero is released in asia a while ago. I'm not sure if it's still going. I think Square enix turned over the lead of the game to other company. I'm not sure if it's getting published or anything in the west.
There are a bunch of tiny project, alot of which I have no idea what it is. But there isn't any major project.
They could get booku money with Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS3.
My forecast is that they will patch the game over the next year or so. I am expecting this game to realistically be alive no more than a few months after the PS3 launch. The populations will probably drop off after peoples' free month is up for PS3. I bought the SE of this game, and I literally feel so wronged by this horrid title, I am done buying SE games. This being said, I am a big fan of Japanese games and all other Asian games as well. Now when I want a fun little asian game I look to NIS America which I have been playing titles from for years anyways on my psp and whatnot. I just have to accept the fact that there wont be any play as you go games, especially not from SE. I must say though, there are bad games where there is difference opinions, but no one could have expected a game to be this absolutely horrid. I spent $85 after tax for the SE version which was anemic itself in bonus items, but not only that but I only played it for a few days. Normally I would at least play for the entire month that is included with the game. But this game was just too bad. So that being said, I think that SE will lose a lot of fans from this. I really dont think people are going to be willing to risk buying one of their games hoping that it is good. I know I won't be. In my opinion I feel that they owe the public an apology and a refund although it would never happen. Its literally that bad. In addition, I have never been so upset at a game ever, and I have never seen the general public have such bad and upset reviews of a game ever. I mean on Metacritic it gets a 5 from reviewers and a 3.8 from users. Usually the users give games a higher score. But this game defies the norm. So that being said. This game may keep its servers open, for years like FFXI even with low populations, but I think that it will be effectively dead within months of the PS3 launch. I don't even know if the PS3 launch will have decent sales as well, as I think that this game was so EPIC in how bad it was, many people will have gotten wind of it and be spared the highway robbery(purchasing the game). And when SE has its 12 people left playing on the server and they either shut it down or stop supporting it, it will serve them right. I don't look at them as a responsible game company anymore and I hope they really have a reality check from this and start actually catering too their fans more instead of sticking it to em'.
