If Blizzard puts their name on a bunch of crappy MMOs, they lose the entire point of their well-established company brand name. Very much the opposite of what they've done in the past (by cancelling big projects they deemed weren't at an appropriate quality level.)
Blizzard didn't get to where they are by making stupid short-term-gain mistakes.

The attitude of the OP is exactly why I hate WoW fanboys.
Personally, I think saying Blizzard is the best gaming company because of the sheer number of subscriptions, is no different then saying McDonalds provides the best food out there because there is over a billion served. Most people would say that its more a matter of the consumers budgets.
If Blizzard is so good, why haven't they fixed the AI problem in Starcraft II? Not enough time to fix something as trivial as pathfinding?
I think Blizzard has a fine reputation and I don't hate them, but I wouldn't waste a glass of water on a WoW fanboy if he was on fire.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

Ferndip you failed at copy-pasting, the list of top-selling pc games should be:
1: The Sims (16 million shipped) 2: The Sims 2 (13 million) -The Sims 2: Pets [expansion pack] (5.6 million) -The Sims 2: Seasons [expansion pack] (1 million) 3: World of Warcraft (12 million subscribers) -World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade [expansion pack] (3.5 million) -World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King [expansion pack] (4 million) 4: StarCraft (11 million) 5: Half-Life (9.3 million, may include PS2 version) -Half-Life: Opposing Force [expansion pack] (1.1 million) 6: Half-Life 2 (6.5 million, may include Xbox version but does not include Steam sales) 7: Guild Wars (6 million in North America, Europe, and Asia; includes Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North) 8: Myst (6 million) 9: Doom (5 million) 10: Counter-Strike (4.2 million)
Iam at the point where I believe most mmorpg developers should simply let Blizzard fund them under their seal of approval.
Blizzard is the “Babyface” of videogames.
Blizzard is to Videogames, as Babyface is to Music.
EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH BECOMES A HIT!!!!!
[...]
Conclusion:
I would really like to see more Developer published and funded by Blizzard’s Seal of Approval.
This gaming Genre would be so much better in the long run.
And with these games under Blizzard’s wing, they would no longer need to focus on World of Warcraft since World of Warcraft other Competition in the genre, would also be under Blizzard’s wing, meaning they make money off the success of these other MMORPGs as well.
Good thing I don't listen to Babyface (whoever that might be) and listen to the more sophisticated kinds of music like progressive metal, Goth, doom and other types
If all music would be the same, and someone would not enjoy it (like me, I haven't listened to the radio, or watched MTV for years), then what would we have to listen to..? Please explain to me...
Same goes with MMOs/games. If all games were like Blizzard's, then I'd not be playing any games. Just like the kind of music I like, I don't go with the herd and follow everyone like a dumb sheep. I'd rather pick my own games and enjoy those. Okay, servers might be a bit more empty, but at least I enjoy the games I play.

Damn I want more from the MMORPG genre, and even the CORPG genre.
Just imagine how much better the current games we have, would be if Blizzard was Developing it, or even Funding it.
Blizzard is greedy like any other standard company out there in America. They currently have WoW as the top MMORPG in the west.
Developer after Developer seems to fall into the Fail hole when it comes to making successful MMORPGs.
Well since Blizzard is in it for the money, why not strike deals with Blizzard to allow them to Fund the damn game & have a hand in the development, and let them get their share of the Sub profits.
Developers of new MMORPGs could let Blizzard publish the game.
Damn just imagine how much better the genre would be if this kind of movement would happen.
Since Blizzard would be making money off of these other developed successful MMORPGs, they wouldn’t need to focus of World of Warcraft so much, and maybe extend the popularity of newer ideas, and older concepts.
IMAGINE FOR A SEC:
If Vanguard’s developer Brad McQuaid would have took his development team to Blizzard to get the Game funded and published,,, GOT---MUG---F***ing—DAMNPWNBBQSAUSE, Vanguard would have been Everquest 4.5 or something. Way ahead of its time.
If GW would have let Blizzard Develop a Warhammer Online MMORPG, that shit would have rocked the House. Would have been way better then the shit Mythic pulled off. You know what. If Mythic would have went to Blizzard instead of EA, Warhammer could have been DAOC 3.0 by now. But hey, we all have to learn the lesson at sometimes, that wow hatred got to go in business.
If Arena Net would have went to Blizzard to fund Guild Wars instead of NCsoft, that game would probably had a Persistent Seamless world back then, with much more power than it currently has. The Engine of GW1 would have BEEN WHERE GW2’s ENGINE IS but EVEN BETTER WITH THINGS LIKE A SEAMLESS WORLD!!!
If Darkfall’s Developers had let Blizzard fund them/publish for them, Sandbox MMORPGs would be the New Age of MMORPG again. Damn Darkfall Online would have had way better features as a sandbox. The PvE would have been much better. Even the PvP. Many features were left out do to financial reasons. But with Blizzard backing them, Darkfall would have been a major success in the wave of Aiming combat, and Sandbox style MMORPG development.

Pretty sure you will get a better deal by selling your soul to the devil..

1. Blizzard makes great games because they spend years on them. I know they scrapped one complete version of Diablo 3 because it wasn't up to standards. That's why there's no Blizzard North anymore. That's why StarCraft 2 took ten years. They spent at least four of those years just straight up making it.
2. Blizzard did make Warhammer Online. It's called World of Warcraft. That's exactly what Warcraft IS, Blizzard's version of Warhammer.
Why would you want every single game to be just like WoW? Blizzard doesn't make a bunch of games with different methodologies. They make games according to their method. Other companies make games with theirs. If Blizzard made every game, then all games would be like Blizzard's. Which would suck.
name 1 game by Blizzard that sucks.
World of Warcrafts END GAME is my response..
1) Farming 5 man's for emblems and rep over and over is painfully borning..
2) Then start farming the current raid zone ONCE per week (ie. Naxx, Ulduar, ToC then ICC) Really? How many times do you need to kill the same pixels in the same zone before you yell "lame"?
3) For those PvPer's.. Where is the meaningful PURPOSE to PvP at end game? Wintergrasp is the only zone that I truely enjoyed to PvP because there was a contested purpose.. However 1 zone in the entire game doesn't justify a $15 month sub..
I give WoW a solid score of B+ I took points off because of lack of meaningful crafting.. and no perks like player housing etc etc.. However to refute your stance that Blizzard is the best thing since sliced bread.. WoW's end game once you get to "heroics" is EPIC FAIL.. It's nothing more then a instanced lobby game..
Just because you, the OP, like a particular game companies style of doing things doesnt mean that everyone does, as is shown clearly in the thread you started.
Please do not force me to live in an identical house to yours, drive an identical car as yours, work at an identical job as yours, eat identical foods to you, play in exactly the same way you do, respect my right to have a differing opinion to you as i will respect your right to believe Activision-Blizzard is a god among game games developers.
No use the Sony busniess model buy out the company or hire there main devs, after getting the game pull all developement from it and watch it slowly die. Thats how you get rid of a good compitition for your bread and butter game ie EQ2. The game im referring to is Vanguard. Still a good game with no support now. nor does it look like will get any.

Money. Making all that stuff together will cut down costs for both of them.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
Well...Since I didn't like WoW, I guess I wouldn't be playing MMORPGs anymore, if everything was going to be WoW.
Why stop there, maybe Blizzard could make your food/drink too, you could have a live, ask blizzard what I should do in RL hotline too!
I don't throw around WoW hate, I just didn't like it, or this idea.
