Mortal Online state of the game

Anyone playing Mortal Online? I just visited their website, and it looks like they have made a huge amount of changes. Has anyone tried it out? The concept of Mortal Online really intrigues me, but the reviews after the initial release were awful. Does this game have a future? Is it improved? Has Starvault gotten the guidance they need from Epic? I guess I'm just really curious...

The new engine build from Epic is in place now, allowing for nice graphics, better AI and new advanced content. It messed up the game quite bad though, and MO is just now recovering (a new patch arrived today and I hear it's a good one) from the instability issues and bugs that the Epic patch brought.

The game is not in a very polished or fleshed-out state, but it's definitely improving. If it's improving fast enough, or if it is enjoyable, is a matter of opinion; some people here will ofc trash-talk MO no matter what happens, while the more devoted fanbois at the MO forums will tell you everything is just dandy.

Personally I still have hope, but SV has a lot to prove in the coming months.

If you do not care about playing a game and paying for it even tho it should be in beta go for it.

The patch today actually improved several things. It got lots of potential. The devs got the new Epic engine recently and have the last week fixed the bugs after that convert. Now after the todays patch they have solved most of the issues. You should try it. Also, soon they I think they will roll out the monster package they have prepared. You should try it.

I made a few posts in this forum a couple months back and even added a comment to the rating tab slating the game. I resubbed recently out of curiosity and I will now hold my hands up and admit that things are really turning around. Content-wise, little has changed, but almost everything that was already there is massively improved. I've been considering coming back here for a few days to spread something positive, because I really did feel bad mouthing off against a game that was trying to do things the right way.

I still stand by my financial analysis of SV and am sadly vindicated by today's stock report. I did advise people to give it 3 months before trying it out a few months back and I would say it is almost at the point I'd tell people to jump in and go. The state of the game? Pretty sound, in all honesty. Next on their hitlist is PvE and new player experience (including UI upgrade). If they can roll these out quickly they will finally have a release candidate (irrespective of official release date). If you don't mind working a little at the game, absolutely go for it now. For anyone else, give it a month. If the stock report concerns you, as it probably should, I'd even advise going for it anyway if you're serious about gaming and can afford it. If MO sinks, I want to be on the ship as it goes down.

It is turning out to be the experience it is was billed to be - I hope I'm not enjoying my last few months in Nave.

How about that for viral marketing?

Their CEO just stated to his shareholders that the subscriptions were way below target.. and they were going to try and bump them 25% this quarter.  My guess is that there will be a free trial VERY soon... so I would recommend holding off on your money for a few weeks and giving it a shot yourself instead of taking anyones word on it.

Although the game needs more content there's definately more to do than just PvP, its just the PvP in MO is very good.

First no the pvp is not "really good" I can list a bunch of threads in here from then player section with people complaining about pvp and it being the only thing too do.

What else is there to do??  Kill wisents?(buffalo).  Sit in your keep or house and do nothing? Craft the same 3 weapons and 3 suits of armor everyone uses?

I would not buy it, from what was posted in the other thread from their financial reports, you would be throwing your money away as its looking like the game will shut down soon.  I am not trolling, I am being serious.  Just look in that other thread...
