I wonder if they are going to make sure to give proper credit to the original team of devs if this ever sees the light of day?
(full disclosure, I was on the original team at perpetual)
I don't see why they should, they bought the IP (I am guessing) so it is their product now.
It's not like they got it for free.
By the way, I never understood why Perpetual never released this game.
I was in the original Beta and I kinda liked the game, it also didn't look any more broken or incomplete than other poo released recently, like AoC, Vanguard and so on.
If I have to be honest I was going to buy the game so I am not sure what happened inside Perpetual that made them decide this game wasn't ready for release.
This game is amazing, I play the closed beta and have been for months now! This game is unbelievable, only game to take me from WoW in years! This game has its bugs and all that fun stuff, but the devs. actually listen to the community and are fixing things. This game at release will be ready and will be a great game.
To all the haters, you obviously have no faith and we don't need people like you testing a beautiful amazing game set in a period that far exceeds any other fantasy world.

Nice enthusiasm. If only the game was as fun as you seem to be. I guarantee that if this game isn't FTP then it will crash and burn at launch. the game Maps and zones alone are to indicative of games like RoM and Allods and therefore should do what they do, and go FTP.
I've played a ton of MMOs and there is no way this game even contends with the big boys. Good for those who like the setting though, but again it better go FTP or it will die.

They should at least give the original devs credit for the work they did. It'd be very tacky to release the game and claim developer and artist credit for stuff they didn't do. By all means they should add their devs to the credit list, but they should also add the original dev teams names to the credits. This isn't a monetary thing, it's a courtesy thing within the industry.
As for why we didn't release it... quite simply we ran out of money. We were trying to find a rather severe and very elusive crashing bug and it was taking up a huge amount of time. We simply ran out of money and ran out of funding sources before we ran out of bugs.
Got the invite, but the link to download does nothing. Just goes to a blank page and then locks up. Makes me think it is a scam but for all the people writing on here. Resetting anyway.
