Have Warchest & Lich King but Acct Info Long Lost!! How do I use my discs?

in World of Warcraft

Back in August ofI 2009, I got World of Warcraft Battlechest from a friend and then got the Lich king. He included a 30 day prepaid card with it. For whatever reason, I didn't renew my subscription. Now I got a way more powerful laptop, I want to reinstall  the cd-roms on this laptop BUT since this merge thing happened, I apparently can't get my old login info! It's like totally lost no matter what password I put in. I sadly can't use any of the returning player free trials because I never did merge my account when I got the email in November of 2009 I think. No correct login info=No luck for me.

How can still use the game and expansion now? The disc keys have of course already been redeemed by me. Can aI purchase a game key for WOW online and then install the War  Chest discs+The Lich King so I can be a subscriber again? or will it make me download the game again which would be a total waste of HDD space.

    Merge your account with battle.net if you haven't already, register your game and you can always download a copy of the game from your battle.net account.

    Blizzard has very good customer support did you try to call them?The only problem I could see them not being able to help is if it was your friends account that he gave you.If it is your account made with your email call them they also will do the battlenet merge for you at the same time.

     I have forgotten the password, that's the  problem! I can't merge without that password

    Thanks, it was not originally my account but his so not much I can do. I just took it over for him.

    What do I do? Purchase a game key and then install the cd roms?

     Thank you but why would I do that when I have The Warchest and Lich king already on cd-rom?

     Did you change his info to yours i.e. email,password etc?If so then you shouldnt have a problem just call them and give that info,if not try to get your friend to call and retrieve the info.

    Otherwise yea you will just have to start over.You can either purchase digitally from battle.net and use your discs to dl(I only see the original on site for DDL for $20)or you can buy from a retailer or Amazon or Ebay(there are some Battlechests with a starting bid of $25)

     Yes, I changed all of his info to mine, address and put my email and a password that I changed from his. I will call them to see if that works.

    I will do the free trial because I have been away for so long, I want to see what's up with the state of the game.  I'mt not sure I can use my free trial with my cd-roms or strictly use it on the trial version which isn't what I want because it doesn't have all the content. I guess I will just give it a few days, if it's what I really want, I will indeed purchase the digital copy.

     Ok then you should be able to just do a password recovery which will be real simple if you remember your account name otherwise you will have to call them but if you remember the account name and it is in your email try here:

    It said I had to do it via battlenet and I know my account name but the password is wrong. I can't remember it and won't allow me to do anything if the password is wrong.

    Get everything tied in to your battle.net account, download the Battle.net Authenticator to your phone for free, and never worry about this kind of thing ever again.

    They aren't open on weekends. The characters I had, I didn't like anyway.

     

    Is the digital copy of WOW for $19.99 include all the expansions including WOTLK? I was thinking it only was WOW, hadn't occurred to me that it might contain all of the expansions. I wouldn't mind paying $19.99 just to get passed all the nonsense of trying to get my account back. Might as well start new and just leave my new laptop on overnight while all of it downloads if anyone can confirm it has all expansions.

     Thats odd because that link is for password recovery for accounts not linked to battle.net yet try this one click the retrieve password in the quicklinks box under  then on the page that pops up click the recover password at the bottom of the blue box where it says- If you have not converted your World of Warcraft account to a Battle.net account yet, please recover password.

    And to answer your question as far as the digital dl they have I think it is only for the original game and you will still have to buy TBC and WOTLK-you would be better off finding something on ebay or Amazon just make sure that they are new and look at the sellers feedback scores/comments

    I googled it and found a step by step:

     

    1) Take all discs out of the box

    2) Make a fire in the fireplace

    3) Throw discs in fire

    4) .....

    5) Profit
