Updated skybox and Weather + New animations / world art

As shown in the picture the new skybox is beautiful and resembles the old beta static sky box. Not only is it beautiful but it's also a fully functioning dynamic weather system.

- Clouds move around according to wind/pressure systems

- Rain (light and heavy), snow, sandstorms, dark nights, cloudy, mist/fog, lightning storms, thunder storms.

The moon was also redone, although it doesn't look round like I'd expect it's nice.

One of the many new animations introduced by SV's new experienced animations/art dev.

http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/55296-god-like-you.html

Others include a fantasic wood cutting animation, your head looking around, a few others I can not remember. However the above link is pretty awesome (warning; link contains ingame frontal nudity).

Glad the art is good, they keep updating it while leaving the rest of the game broken   Fix the bugs, duping, exploits, etc and stop working on the graphics.  They need to get their priorities straight and get a manager that knows what is important and get rid of henrik

The art is brilliant, the game is a breath taking experience from the visuals. It's important to understand not the entire development team works on bugs.

However, they have fixed most of the bugs now, including the dupes. (All duped horses are disappearing upon login/use) This is good, admittedly they need to work on the interpolation system a little more to make PvP 100% perfect and there's a handful of annoying smaller bugs that need ironing out but the core is getting fixed up nicely.

Next? Content! We've seen what they have already made but that's for another topic.

Back on-topic, lets keep it on-topic davmac22 (PM me for further discussion / new topic)

Everyone likes to play in a beautiful world which draws you in with immersion. MO has the longest view distance of any other game and it's spectacular to look at from a distance.

Sure, while the coders are fixing bugs the art team shouldn't be doing anything. image

    Gameplay > Graphics

Don't care how awesome it looks, if the game itself is broken with bugs, exploits, dupes, etc the game will fail in the end.  They need to STOP working on graphics and FIX THE GAME TO MAKE IT PLAYABLE.

Davmac22, off-topic one more time and I'll report.

On-topic; Yes the game looks awesome and is fluid, this is a huge factor in a games immersion and enjoyability.

Off-topic; The game isn't as broken/bugged as you make it out to be, there's a handful of bugs that need fixing from the latest engine upgrade but exploiting and duping? You're slightly outdated with your info there, PvP exploits were fixed a long time ago, horse duping/other duping is now fixed. Duped horses disappearing all over the shot.

As I said before, create a new topic or PM me for discussion. Hyjacking a thread is against MMORPG.com rules.

Nice pictures and stuff, but notice anything missing?ACTION/LIFE, when i was in MO it remineded me of DF a dead looking game,no npc's barely any mobs, just a void looking world. That is why i will never play it.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    I was in the beta.

I couldn't get over how awful the characters looked.  Extremely amature character models.

It looks like they've improved the world a lot though.

beside other things here, i must admit the game after installing the last patch looks so awesome now. absolutly outstanding so far.

and the unarmed combat is so sweet  :D

it looks like the shadows are working very fine, they are moving with the terrain at each time. great feeling so far.

Another thread is derailed by haters.

Those who really enjoy MO stop post here you will only get derailed and flamed.

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

Ok, more pruning done to keep this thread a bit more pure.

And I will [mod edit] my post as well.

Here are our rules of conduct to remind our community of "our rules of conduct".

Please keep it civil and on topic.

Soliloquy, if you are to delete my posts, you might as well delete others replying to them as well, otherwise the discussion just looks weird. Neither were all of them unrelated to the 'omg grapphics11!'

[mod edit] you are correct. Normally we lock these threads if  we have to go in them and really re-work them. Especially when more serious infractions are popping up so quickly. But I want to keep discussion flowing. Hopefully the thread will work better going forward. - Soliloquy

Anyways, back to the topic. As I was saying, the 'graphics' (GRAPHICS!! Incase we still got someone paranoid enough of thread derailing here) may look decent with hi res textures and all, but the world looks empty. It lacks foliage in the nature, forests are nothing but trees stuck here and there and there are almost no points of interests in the world except for some mob spawns.

They should dedicate more time and effort to making the world more alive and rewarding to explore, till then all their fancy lensflares are in vain. Although I gotta admit it does seems to work of impressing the fans with low standards :)

Fixed all the bugs? Right.. http://www.mmorpg.com/photo/8200f866-2f35-43e7-9e1b-6b84ebe208d1

(And no, again, it is not derailing since I am replying to OPs own claims. If you dont want such a discussion, dont reply in first place.)

When I read about the new animations I didn't think much of it, but when I saw them in game I was amazed.  The movements of the game characters look more like natural movements of real people.  Most realistic animations I've ever seen in an MMO.

Never trust a screenshot or a youtube video without a version stamp!

  • thorppesthorppes Member Posts: 452

I agree the new animations look very professional and fluid. Also I forgot to mention the speed tree in here, the swaying trees in the wind are always an immersive plus when in the game.

The game does look great now a days, I return ever so often to keep tabs on it and test out things. The dev team is working pretty well on the game but it does have some more time to go before they can start advertising the game. The flash UI is nice but needs to be implemented into everything.

I am just curious when they will add the NPC Life system they've been talking about. Who knows but will sub again when I see more changes implemented.

I have said many many times.  The graphics are great.  But....

    gameplay>graphics

    content>graphics

    economy>graphics

    population>graphics.

    bug fixing>graphics

  • sunny_liftonsunny_lifton Member Posts: 23

I am impressed with the new graphics.  I pre-ordered this game and was so disappointed with it.  I am still keeping an eye on it.  It finely looks like things are going in the right direction.  I might think about sub'ing in a couple months if the progress continues.
