My guess is this and TERA will release at least 5 months earlier than Tor and GW2.
It's my take too. Rift's beta is supposed to be around the corner, and I believe it started already for Tera. GW2 and SW:ToR would be toward the end of 2011.

Thats good. a few month lead will get more bored gamers to try Rift and maybe have a decent turnover.
Im interested in Rift but if the game releases at the same time or after GW2/SWTOR ill have to put it on the back burner and wait for a trial.
However there has been absolutely no release date or even a projected release date for Guild Wars 2, so there's no telling when it will arrive. From what I've heard, from various articles & interviews, the game is at the stage where the majority of the content is finished and they are refining certain aspects. Some of the devs have even been bragging about playing the game's PvP on a daily basis and the demo (in the game conventions) was even available in multiple languages. So my guess is, we'll see a beta for it Q1 2011 and ANet have already stated that they don't wanna release some half-baked beta.
So yes, unfortunately for you and for Trion Worlds; GW2's release may conincide with Rift's and it isn't helped by the fact that Rift's major selling point is similar to one of GW2's major selling points. But this talk on GW's release is pure speculation and we'll have to wait to find out more. Still doesn't change the fact that more people, MMO & non-MMO players alike, are waiting for GW2 and not Rift. For Rift to succeed, whether GW2 or SW:TOR arrives next year or not; it really needs to be marketed well, because up until last month I didn't even know the game existed.

I'm afraid not. From all the info given out until now we can safely assume that Rift's release date will be earlier than GW2 (could be 2 months or 6 or a year). Rift's beta is around the corner and by the time Rift releases, ANet will hardly release a beta. No, actually I'm pretty sure the GW2 beta will be after Rift goes gold.
It is really impossible to tell at least before the games go to beta.
From what I seen GW2 actually looks like it is in better shape now, but even if it is we can't be sure if Trion will release it before they should or not, ANET will not do that. And we don't know which things still needs to be implemented in the games or how long time that will take.
Hopefully will the games all release when they are actually done and the order doesn't really matter to me, as long as they are in good shape.

I feel TOR is going to have more subs than rift. ATM i honestly see rift as a niche mmorpg. Things coudl change And i have no clue how go it will play.
But i think tor is comming otu 1st then terra? no clue.

2011 could be a great year for MMORPGs. Let's hope a few of those take off!
I don't think so. Rift will be the first to release, and will most probably a hit (definitely not a niche game, lol). Next will be tera, and it will fail terribly, at least in the west. In summer we will see swtor, that will be a success, I assume, but will not last long, and gw2 we will see somewhere in 2012.

I don't know what post you're reading but his post in fact appears to be his opinion on the order of release which is relative to the subject at hand. The only mention of quality that I saw was in regards to Tera.
This is going to be a tough one for me, I'd be torn to try Rift if it launches before TOR because I will only subscribe to one of those two. GW2 is free to play online so the time frame that it launches isn't as big of a concern to me. And graphically Tera looks good, but I'm afraid that's about all we will get with that game, so even if Tera surprises us and launches before Rift and TOR, I don't know that it will be getting my money.

I'm saying that this could be no way be a release date list, especially after listening to podcasts where it's pretty clear that even the last podcasts state rift as a Q1 2011 release date and...guess what, GW2 isn't coming before that.

I'd happen to think that it would be publishing suicide if either Rift ot Tera didnt release cleanly and competetntly at least 4-5 months before GW2 and SWTOR.
And for my own selfish reasons, as I think you mentioned, GW2 and SWTOR will get my dollar before Rift or Tera if they launched at the same time.

And three years of development? Some need 4-5. Im not sure if Rift will be the first to release, I hope they will listen to feedback given to them and release it when it is ready. The class system is very interesting and I would give it a look no matter when it comes out (since I won't have to pay a subscription fee for Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars, dont see what the hype is about).
So I hope they won't rush it, but I could see it being released before GW2 and SWTOR.

From the pod casts, they are looking to release in feb/march '11, and they said they are on target...So probably be march, and the latest april.
I think the order will be:
1. Rift
2. Tera
3. GW2
4. swtor
