Am I missing any? I was wanting to try out every sandbox game and see which I like most, but it feels like I'm leaving some out. Anyone have any recommendation?

Playing - EVE, Wurm

Retired - Final Fantasy XI, Anarchy Online, Mabinogi

Waiting - ArcheAge, Salem

    Jumpgate, which isn't an RPG, though.  It's an old space sim.  Kinda mostly.

    I wasn't aware that Jumpgate was going be a sandbox MMO?  Then again it's been awhile since I've read anything on it.  

     

    Edit:  Unless you're refering to the original Jumpgate.  Then nevermind me.

    Obviously, Ultima Online is still around too.

    Xsyon, Dawntide, Aerrevan, and Earthrise are all games on the horizon, but not out yet.

    I dont think Jumpgate can be classified as a sandbox game.  You have to grind somewhat to get rank and to acquire better ships and equipment.

    I was rank 26 out of 50 when I quit.  I kinda want to play it again, but not sure it will work with windows 7.

    Minecraft is a sandbox but not a MMORPG. Multiplayer will be coming soon. It's also not officially released yet, but available for purchase & download

    Archeage is a sandbox though it probably wont be released for a long time.

    Last I checked this wasn't available in North America. Has that changed/was I wrong?

    The Brazilian version isnt which has recently started its beta,the Gamersfirst version will be global and beta is supposed to start before the end of the year sometime.

    Thanks for the replies. I'm trying EVE atm. Kind of slow paced, but after years of XI I got used to it. After my trial, I'll try Mortal/Darkfall/Fallen Earth. I may stick with EVE a little longer though.

     

    Edit: Oh, and I have Minecraft and Garry's Mod already ;)

     Can you update the OP with the other suggested games? That way others don't have to skim through the thread for them.

    I don't think that MO has a trial and I would definitely recommend that you check out the following games in this order first:

    Darkfall, Fallen Earth, Ryzom, Vanguard, Asheron's Call, Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online, Runescape (forgetting one?!?)

    (not sure where Wurm or ATITD would fit in this list since I have never played them before . .. don't like F2P usually and the younger crowd that they attract)

    Or if you know that you are going to give every game a try for sure reverse the order so that they keep getting funner lol but MO should be the last on the list either way since it costs money and most do not think it is worth it.

     

    SWG is mostly sandbox, or was anyways I haven't played it much for awhile and it was pretty dead when I resubbed recently.

    I consider Vanguard close enough to being a sandbox so I'll mention that as well but it is more like a choose your own adventure theme park than it is a sandbox.

    Runescape is a sandbox game too but also getting pretty old.

     

    There are a few in beta but to be honest I think that it is probably wise to wait until it has been released for a bit so that you could experience it without so many bugs . .. well unless it is FFA PVP . ... in that case I would get into the beta so that you can get a head start when the game is released.
