Darkfall or Vindictus..... only 2 good hack and slash games i can think of atm
Yep and thats pretty much all anyone else can come up with too. It's pretty sad really isnt it lol
Not really, when you consider we are enjoying the hell out of them, while the rest are still looking for something *like* them in vain.
OK I will consider it.....hmmmm.......so you and some other people are happy with the fact that a certain type of mmo isnt available. Meanwhile people like the OP have an extremely limited choice.
I will stick with my original post. Its a pretty sad state of affairs.
You seem to be saying "Screw everyone else. I dont care if other people have to go without something they like, as long as I am happy"
I'm saying "Variety is good. Everyone should have something to play that they enjoy, even if it's something I dont personally like"
Darkfall is a very slow-paced game overall but the combat is the fastest pace that I have ever come across. The quests are definitely more of the hack n slash style without stupid quests like Deliver this twig to Legolas or something along those lines . .. Vindictus looks like fun but not a better suggestion than Darkfall when he already said that he cannot play Vindictus. Also AoC and DDO which were mentioned are not as much of a hack and slash as Darkfall imo because the storyline and quests are more ellaborate while Darkfall is more of create your own storyline, everything that you do effects other people pretty much, and its all about the combat for the most part. I think that it is too hack n slash for many people who would rather be going from quest giver to quest giver and watching movies of his storyline. Darkfall just gets right to the point similar to hack n slash tabletop RPGs without any fluff that other games can force you through to unlock more content. There are no level restrictions so you can just fight anything that you want from the beginning. The PVP is more edge-of-your-seat than Vindictus because it matter more when you die and you are rewarded more when you win. Darkfall sounds like a great game to hack n slash in . .. you can hack on anything that has HP from the beginning.
Liking Darkfall is great but it doesn't rub off on me you've ever played Vindictus. Vindictus currently has no PvP on the NA servers... so you don't die and you aren't rewarded in PvP. Just my two cents, maybe three?

What I am saying is "be content with what *exists*", not "get your knickers in a twist until developers go out on a limb and give you exactly what you want". Good games exist, quit crying about what hasn't been done yet - it *hasn't been done yet*.
Plus, there is plenty of variety. Action games are out there, traditional MMOs, world-builders, turn-based... and so on, and so on... you are just not going to find all of them in the same game. Get used to playing a couple at a time to fill the void where one lacks in an area you are pining for.
There is plenty of fast-paced action games out there too, nobody even covered S4 league, or FPS-MMOs like Global Agenda and all that. Vindictus just happens to be one of a few "hack and slashes", like TERA, C9 and others. Even DDO falls into this catagory. Do your research.

Mythos is or atleast was a Hack and Slash MMO. It's moved to a different dev since flagship sank so I'm not sure of its quality any more. It's coming to beta soonish in the US but definitely worth looking into at some point. To be honest, if it's really an MMO hack and slash you're looking for I can't make any suggestions. Vindictus is good till about your first hour in when you realize it's the same system over and over again with maybe one or two new traps in the next dungeon.
If you're not too worried about it being non-mmo, fate, torchlight, torchlight 2, and of course Diablo 3. Of course the last two haven't been released but might be shortly. It's not been terribly good for HnS mmo's recently.
