Not much Codemasters can do about it. EUR/USD exchange rate isn't easy to fight.
I feel sorry for them
Not only that but there the VAT (Virtual Access Tax) aka TAX on accessing the Internet. So in effect those who live in the UK/EU have to pay more than Americans to access the internet. Here in America, we just pay a Internet Service Provider, either use a online cash shop or pay a subscription. Unforutnatly those in the UK/EU have to pay a ISP, online MMO Sub in addition to the VAT.

Same item in USA shop costs 50 , and in EU 300 points.
(on the top turbine points are more expensive due to VAT in Europe, anyway)
EU prices turn out to be up to X4 times more expensive !!!
Yeah, it's not the price of the points that's the issue here, so I wish people wouldn't muddy the waters with talk of exchange rates and VAT, they're irrelevent to this discussion.
The issue is things cost more points in the EU than they do in the US because the US gets better sales.
I've seen the explanation about how the EU store is behind the US ones - but this suggests that the sales and prices are preset by Turbine and Codemasters have absolutely no control over them.
If this is true, how come the EU got a Bonfire Night sale? Did the US get a Bonfire Night Sale?

CM has control over sales, they are just running on a schedule thats nearly 2 months late. Also the LL pricedrop only happened recently in the US, i fully expect those price changes be mirrored in time. CM isn't even done paying out all veteran and promotion points, they have their plate full enough atm. If you absolutely can't wait for the couple pricechanges to be mirrored than you have the option to play in the US, its a free market.
You charge what the market will bear. Start high and reduce until you hit the point where 'price per item/number of items sold' threshold becomes less profitable.

You can't compare the price of Lonelands in the US now with the current price in Europe. LLs used to be 350 points until recently. And it has been 350 for more than a month or two whereas the EU servers have been up for only like 2 weeks. A lot of the peeps in the US have already bought Lonelands so Turbine are not losing that much revenue.
Evendim is 75% off atm so your arguments are void. We do have 75% off sales.
Also it is hilarious that some people think that the weak dollar affects THEIR gameplay. If anything you should be happy the euro is doing fine. I mean what would you prefer a currency that's worth more when going abroad etc or saving 20 cents in a game?
Also the difference between the euro and the dollar is not that great as you make it out to be. Do you really care if you pay 50 cents more? Are you that poor?
There's also the sub. My subscription per month is cheaper than in the US. £8.99 is a little bit less than $14.99. And that's true for all MMOs. Not sure about how the euro sub compares to the us one.
But bottom line is - if you are THAT poor that you whine about being overcharged 40p (and most people here don't even know how economics work) then you should stop coming to the forums and turn off your PC so you can save on your electricity bill! But even if you go on the whole I have got principles and rights thingie, please do NOT EXAGGERATE your figures. Statements like it's 4 times more expensive are just ridiculous and farfetched.
EU point purchases are taxed more and currency is stronger meaning higher point prices. They have less flexibility in day to day offers. They are behind with permanent discounts or they make less money, lose-lose situation. And of course, they have no control over the product.
I was hoping the delay was caused in part by creating different cash shop pricing, turns out the delay brought nothing to the table at all and CM are vassals of Turbine, pity for them, and for us.
Edit: You did not save *our* behind in WWII, you were sitting idle in Pilsen drinking beer waiting for Russians to get here, and sold us to Russians together with our uranium for Russian nukes, just like our allies sold us to Germans before war, together with our tanks that made blitzkrieg start out so well. We lost a large chunk of land in the war. Thank you.

Just consider it payback for saving your asses in WWII

Having the same prices in shop is dumb.
