Biggest gripe about crafting that I have is that nobody wants your goods. I've only bought one thing off of the auction house (light leather) for tailoring. Anything you make you can pretty much just sell it to the NPCs because nobody wants them at ALL. I spent nearly 20 minutes telling people I have a FREE 8-slot bag and nobody bothered to reply. It's THAT bad.
A mmorpg that is jsut about reaching amx level is not fun.. grinds are gay, but the only reason people play mmorpgs. AC is probably the funnest game after maxing out.. pvp is good, or was. They ruined AC shortly after DM, and after that hacks became as much as a part of the game as smashing olthoi

You are not taking into consideration that the items that currently are being sold on the market are common, although officialy they are uncommon, thy are in abundance. Now, the REAL treat for trade skills is to obtain, whether hunting/questing/buying those rare recepies/schematics etc that noone has. Imagine WoW green items as being regular bronze items (bronze armor etc) in Everquest. I already seen several blue recepies (including a few set items). Ive seen only one item (sword) that was of epic proportions (purple). Furthermore, bliz said that there are 2 more types of items, those colors have not yet been revealed so im guessing they are in the process of being implemented. This game is still young, give it time and YOU can become of those rare eople who was lucky enough to loot/purchase ultra rare formula to produce ultra rare item and put your own insignia on the item. So far w have sen only the tip of the iceberg, as people keep exploring frontiers, completing quests, looting rare items, there will be more and more of blue items. In a few months, no one will consider green as uncommon, they will be just a regular items and purple ones will be rare. At that time I imagine blizzard will introduce new types of items as they hinted in the manual, perhaps HEROIC or GODLIKE items with super -duper effects (ex: a mug from which u drink and characters of opposite sex will look to you like supr-models, or a beer-goggles that my gnome keeps talking about with same effect) So dont give up yet! More to come as we learn the game.

Well the comunity so far seems similar to the comunity I was with in Everquest, generally helpfull and many compitent people to do instances with. There are always a few assholes, but so far the biggest asshole i know in wow is me.
This comunity is much better then what i saw in ff11 for one main reason, people actually spell their words out in chat. I couldnt stand people saying "u" in place "you", "wut" instead of "what" ect. Far less of that in WoW which leads me to believe this is more inteligent comunity.

This will change when the Auction Houses get more abundant.
It is hard to sell low level stuff at the auction house, because most newbies don't make it to IronForge (alliance side) to use the Auction House. They usually don't see it till 10th level or later.
Blizzard is planning to put the Auction House in most cities and they will be linked. I think when they do this, then there will be more action.
I think those are all good points, but WoW ist still a great game...
Everyone should know, that NO MMORPG can make all things better then all the others together. WoW for example will never have a standing-system which will be as good as the one in EVE, PvP is worse than in Shadowbane and the crafting-system in EQ2 ist better then to one of WoW...
But all in all WoW doesn't make everything perfect, but everything is done pretty well and there are no HUGE weakpoints, and that is what makes the game so good, at least in my eyes.
"Too easy".. When I get every class to lvl 60, every craft maxed, then Ill say its too easy.
I have a short attention span. I cant pick one char to lvl, craft with, explore with. When I start a game, I usually cant even decide wat class to start with, n after I lvl abit on that one, I wanna try a new one.. So, for ppl like me, this is a great game.
Sure, it may be "too easy" if you only plan on only playing 1 char, n once you get to lvl 60 on that one, youll think your WoW career is over.
I totally agree with what manday said about playing a char for lvl 60, I can if I am determined to lvl 60 on a char but before I get to lvl 60 I must create about 4 other chars...
also....i buy lots of stuff at auction house.....light leathers, basically any elixir or potion that increases my def, sta, spirit, and intellect....i buy scrolls....just bought some heavy armor kits(even tho i'm an expert leatherworker; cant make them yet).....my favorit is spirit stuff, it helps proc
As a casual player I get sick of hearing "this game is too easy" or "there isnt enough content in this game".
Personally, WoW has so much content I find it difficult to decide where to go. As for the game not being too hard, I tend to hunt lower level creatures because you end up in combat most of the time with no downtime. Thats fun to me.
If it isnt a challenge try soloing an elite dungeon or do PvP or attack a city, there are plenty of options.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS) Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
EvE is calling you....PVP system: Great, Strategic planning is a must though, often times spetacular, and thrilling because of the penalties involved in dying in EvE (my heart about exploded the other day when I jumped through a gate and saw 4 battleships waiting for me on the other side) Crafting System: many options Community:Best I have seen. or met Customer Service: Best there is, I was contacted by a gm not 10 minutes after I posted a petition, thats amazing with 12,000 people on at the same time. Come check us out, and if you want I can even use the buddy program to get you a 7 day free sub to get you started. Have fun finding out what game fits you.

"I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by"
You should mention also that it will take MONTHS of real life to get to that PvP (battleships) u mentioned. EvE is too much grind - repetative tasking. Graphics are great though
Originally posted by Vork My first problem - The crafting system. The crafting system is set up so that everyone crafts. Just about everyone uses one gathering and one production skill, more than any other game i've seen... basically because it is just so "convenient". If you don't have a gathering skill you're going to be pressed for money, and if you have the supplies you might as well craft. I usually like to craft because then I can be one of the few who can make that special item.. but as it is now everyone will be able to. You may think this is a good thing.. I hate it. Second problem - PvP - Any PvP can that has abilities that can incapacitate people for more than 10 seconds is broken IMO. Some spells can easily put you out for than a minute(spamming fear, etc.). I know some classes have to rely on these spells to survive, but I would like to see a different way for these classes to survive. Also, there is a lack of PvP rewards(though i hear this is going to eventually be changed). 3rd problem - Overall combat - it just seems too "easy". I'm level 34, and the only way I would die outside of PvP is if I forgot to keep track of my HP bar. If I ever get into trouble(which is usually only if a mob spawns on top of me), I have so many different options I can use. I can blind the target, I can sprint away, I can vanish, I can use a healing potion, use first aid, etc. etc. etc. 4th problem - Overall ease of gameplay - It seems like my hand is held the whole way. It tells me exactly where to go, how to get there, who to talk to, etc. I heard it gets harder after level 15, but I haven't seen any of that. And yes I've done instances. 5th problem - Customer Service/GMs - I haven't had many problems with this personally, but my RL buddy got banned for saying to someone, "damn you bastard lol". I mean come on! He gets banned for 72 hours for this! No previous warning, even though IMO he shouldn't even get a warning for this... since it is rated "Teen" and there is a profanity filter. And for the Community moderators.. I'm not much of a fan of them. Here is one post I remember(not an exact quote): 6th problem - Community - Worst. Community. Ever. That's all I'll say about this. There are far too many stories to tell about this, and /leave 1 and /ignore just doesn't fix the problem. Well, that's my rant. I have already cancelled and my sub it will end in about 9 days. Maybe I was over-hyped about WoW, I don't know. All I know is I'm not having fun with it. P.S. - You may think, "why are you posting this?" I don't know, I guess I'm just pissed because it isn't what I expected, and I just need to vent.
Vork you DEFINITELY make some excellent points about the game. Personally, the crafting system was something that was a HUGE deal for me because I was a huge Ultima Online fan and skills were such a pain in the @$$ to raise on that game that I enjoyed maybe being the only one to GM something. Also, there was a myriad variety to choose from on there also. But to continue...
PvP....ehh...I personally think they did a fair job with everything. Everything seems pretty balanced in my opinion...then again, it's just me. Heh.
Overall combat is a tough topic to discuss. Unlike you, there's probably some people that like to do everything solo that think it may be too hard. Also, you have to take into account that some people are always going to find it easier than others. (Also some ppl are just retarded).
Overall ease of gameplay just depends on how you play. How you like to lvl up or how you prefer to PvP (if at all) yada yada yada. All I know is, even with direction, sometimes quests can be a pain. I bet Blizzard will change some stuff up in the future though.
Community -- I have nothing to say. LoL. People expect different things and what I expect doesn't really matter anyway. But make some suggestions to Blizzard!! Maybe you can make the game better for all of us.
Although the game didn't live up to the over-hype all the magazines and websites gave it, it is still a great MMO. As long as it keeps my intrest until the matrix online I'll be happy

and people dont get banned from saying bastard on chat, i swear everytime i'm on....
if yur not going to play wow in this time in history, what are you going to play then?
