This "C" shaped hand....if i put my hand palm facing the ceiling and have them strait...if i relax them, they slowly curve towards my body ( towards my palm ) is this anything bad? iv never had hand problems before...exept one time i back handed...while in a fist...the speaker next to me and broke it...that was a couple of pennies out of my wallet lol

and this putting your wrists on the table when typing...i have done this since the day i first got a computer, havent had any problems....so i dont think thats anything to worry about

speaking of which, can a regular doctor check for it?

or do I have to make an appointment with someone special?

    hmm....gotta think on that one.

But no, to be serious, that post was made with sarcasm. I know I didn't make it evident enough, but to me it was in there.

    I understand your point wholeheartedly

just got diagnosed in BOTH hands, now I've got to wear a friggin brace until I get surgery.

Left hand first, let it recovery, then surgery for the right hand.

    Life is great...? I'll pass.

I probably have it, but I'm not going to admit it until my hands fall off! That way people will pity me, and at least I'd be able to surf the internet with my feat. If I revealed I have it and my hands remained attached, I'm pretty sure my parents would blame my constant time on the computer. And unfortunately, the router is right next to their computer, and they know how to unplug me! Eek!

What are the symptoms anyway? Fingers stop working for me alot, and my wrist cramps alot. Should I be worried?

Wow murt, im sorry, thats gotta really suck. What type of syndroms are you getting now? I dont think I have it, my hands are fine, sometimes I get a bit of "anxiety" in my hands if that makes sense, but its mainly when im typing fast and alot.

Maybe I should take a break from computers or something lol, im not really having all that much fun any more with games, I mainly use my 1,800 dollar computer to talk to friends now, my family was right ::::05::

I have tcs in early stages in my mouse hand. A friend of mine got it as well and switched to a trackball which he says helped alot. I will wait until my wrist also is in brace though for that. Hopefully by then mind-controlled interface will be implemented but i doubt it.

yeah it was kinda a joke but they do have games right now that are mind-controlled for paraplegics and other disabilities. However they are very early stages (nes style). I will try and find a link and post it here. I will always play games as my only role-model is the lawnmower manimage

mind my typing, this thing is huge and bearly allows me to move my hand

    image

It's on my left hand for now, my right hand is 2 months behind in severity. I'm going for surgery within a month on my left, then I'll try and delay my right till summer break. I can't do that to my right hand during school.

(I can bearly move my left, I'm lucky the fingers can stick out)

Wow, I don't want to go see if I have carpal tunnel syndrome because there will be a chance I might have it, then i'd have to have surgery. I'd rather ignore it and by the time I actually DO have it, technology will be advanced enough that I can just have robotic hands. And perhaps maybe a robotic leg, my right ones not doing so well right now .::::35::

well it started more than 6 months ago in my left, and more than 4 months ago in my right. Constant pain in the first three fingers (starting from the thumb) . In the morning, they are numb...till around second period (around 10 a.m.). Extreme pain in the shoulder and elbow. The wrist hurts like hell. Can't move wrist too fast.

It really got bad at the lan party last night, specially when you have gaming that needs to be done! It's horrible. If you think you have it, get it checked out. Get the surgery. Get it over with.

I'm trying to get it over with, I can't take this pain anymore!

  • SerienSerien Member CommonPosts: 8,460

    here's a more accurate picture

so to all people of the site I SAY THIS!

If you have pain in your hand/ three main fingers, get it checked out. If you spend more than 2 hours at a time on the computer (all of us) get a gel wristpad. If you life things with your wrist...stop.

    Not something you wanna have.

*sorry picture is shakey, it's hard taking a picture with my right when my left is really stretched out, specially when both hurt carrying anything.

The worst part of cts...I have to have friends open my drinks :(

surprisingly that's the first time I'm hearing something that funny.

That is why you should reverse the role of the hands from time to time.

Reverse the mouse hand and play the other way for a month(reverse everything, monitor side, keyboard side, everything), it will relax the muscles who need to relax and peoples will ask if you are the ebayed version of the original player.  image

7 years ago I have bad pain, did that and never got pain in the hands anymore.  Saddly I cant do the same with my eyes, so I guess taking breaks is a must.  image  Switching from computer to PS2/Xbox seem to be a lot better then playing at the same place for all the time hehe.
