If you haven't played DAoC in a while, now's the time to come back!
Catacombs the most recent expansion for DAoC has come out the new classes are very kewl, not to mention the upgraded graphics engine.
First, with catacombs you can customize character faces, as many times as you want. Sure, after the first time there are hoops to jump through, but this keeps people honest, so to speak.
Second, more quests, more to do, very intense, AND the new instancing dungeons make for a good session for the casual gamer. I did an instancing dungeon, it took about 30 minutes to clear it. I did one with my warlock, a very kewl new caster type that can do many things, and also did one with my SB which is at level 48. Now the Warlock had player made armor, but was not Spellcrafted and I was solo. The mobs coned blue to me and i was able to blow them out of the water, so to speak. Now, with my SB, I had fully SC'd armor and weapons, again solo, the mobs were yellow to me. The first mob I was able to finish off, but lost half my health. Point being, the dungeons do adjust in difficulty according to what your skill and equipment are.
Third, the graphics and sound are out of this world. Even the "old world' looks better, more realistic. The sounds in catacomb dungeons are very kewl, ghostly whispers, new sounds for casting some spells, and the weapon strikes are more than just a thunk in the night. Cloaks for instance are not stiff, but flow with movement.
Catacombs has brought DAoC back to life, must try again....

I'm with you on this one. I was getting ready to end my account because I was just getting bored with it, but I held on to it until the expansion came out and I am so glad I did. The graphics are much better, the sound effects are awesome and the new areas rock! Long live Hibernia!
