http://unsubject.wordpress.com/2010/10/09/dcuo-beta-no-guarantees-for-europe/

They could have said that before on offical website.

So dissapointed, tought this was international game, they need people from europe to test beta also...

While I'm disappointed to see that they aren't extending the beta guarantee outside North America, it certainly isn't an American plot to bully anyone. Especially Sweden. Even then it does not mean no beta for Europe. Many Europeans can and will get into the beta. There is simply no guarntee for the pre-order.

It was, however, as the article states written in the fine print on the site. Very few people read the fine print.

    $OE doesn't have a European publisher anymore.

You should have seen the massive outcry on the EverQuest 2 forums earlier this year, when longtime European EQ2 subscribers were not able to pre-order / buy the box / collectors edition of the latest expansion.

In the end, when the forums where on fire they came up with a quick half assed solution wich was only a digital download.

So people, that had been paying subs for over 6 years, where forced to import their expansion boxes at outrageous prices.

That is $OE for you! So I would think twice to even consider buying any new game from $OE. As they don't give a flying crock about non-US citizens! Never have and appearently never will.

Agreed. The only thing you can do is not giving them you hard earned money. Plenty of other mmog titles out there.

Wish more people would excercise this practice. The biggest power we have as gamers is choosing careful what we buy. We have a lot of power when we exert more control on what products we buy.

  • Yep the solution is..dont buy the game..there are plenty of games out soon enough..afterall we are talking $OE

Yeah wish I had know this before I pre-Ordered :D Well atleast I can still play the game in 2011 wipii...:/

Well Im a big MMO fan, but this is something that I really really want to play, and D2D (Direct 2 Drive Europe) had DCUO there for 45 Euros, so I bought it well quess we have to wait and see what SOE does for europeans maybey Christmas beta XD

Soe makes it a habit to screw over players in Europe.  It is just uncanny how often they make decisions that cause problems for players outside of the United States.  Even Canada gets the shaft now and then.

Ahhhhh the things I take for granted being an American! Seriously, if.... no wait.... when DCU takes off and becomes the surprise hit of 2011, SOE will definitely cater to subscription paying Europeans.

Its fine catering exclusively to their US playerbase. What's not fine is them not telling us they are going to do it.

"Your Beta key is your ticket into the active Beta playtesting program and ensures that you can join us for the exclusive in-game Beta events leading up to the game launch - including the Battle of the Legends in-game battle just prior to the commercial release."

    Misleading much.

    America here.

If i were you. id ask for a refund on my preorder to get my money back. The game isn't coming out for a while so you have plenty of time to make 50-60 bucks to drop the money back down on the game before it comes out.

Picture a mass refund of your money as a dent in the pocket of misleading companies such as SOE.

talk about speaking with your wallet.

It's a sad thing with many betas unfortunately.

Even if they should really test for all their target audiences, Europe gets left out of betas all too often.

Though other territories besides the US have similar or even worse experiences ofc.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

I'm from down under and the same thing happened with Vindictus beta. I downloaded the client, set up a user name and tried to log in only to get an error message. Then after a day or so they posted the beta was for US players only. How hard is it to advertise that little fact BEFORE people pre-order or download a client.

People will get more pissed off if they feel lied to or mislead and its not exactly the best way to treat potential paying customers.

  • MykellMykell Member UncommonPosts: 780

Well i got in today and i'm from Australia so looks like they aren't discriminating.

    +1 SOE.

  • flymarvflymarv Member UncommonPosts: 6

Omg, I got in! Well I guess I was wrong, we can close the thread I quess, or keep talking about europeans beta test, how many have gotten in?

  • ProsonProson Member UncommonPosts: 544

Can you only apply for Beta if you have pre-ordered? or am i just looking at the wrong place?

I really wanna try this game out, but i cba to pre-order it just to get a chance at a beta spot.

How old are you?  bullying? are you serious?

UUUGH people...it's not bullying, there's a reason why companies do these things, and it's not because they want to stick it to Europeans...ALL OF US, Europeans and Americans alike, are nothing but walking wallets to these companies, they wouldn't do something to make you not want to buy the game if they didn't absolutely have to.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Same here i also got in ... (from europe 2)

  • PerigarPerigar Member Posts: 3

I just got my key and I'm in Australia.

I only ordered the game a few days ago but a friend who ordered and applied for the beta several weeks ago didn't get a key.
