WWIiONLINE's biggest problem.

The game mechanics dont support tactical battles.


WWIIONLINE has what Planetside has.  Spawn points.  And what do you do to win planetside?  You hack the base (cap the flag) thats 60 feet away from the spawn tubes (infantry spawns).  After playing these types of games for several months it loses its fun.  Every battle becomes a drugery, a predictable bore of outspawning and out grenading your opponent.

Wheres the tactics?

Wheres can I put my head to better use to try to outwit my enemy?

Unfortunately you can never outsmart your enemy. 

The spawn point is HERE, the flags over THERE, you just shoot.  There is no thinking.  There is no planning.  There is no tactics you just click that mouse button as fast as possible.

I stayed with wwiionline for 3 years hoping for some game mechanic changes, even Killer (da head rat) promised the playerbase over and over again, over the course of  3 years, that wwiionline would be a thinking-man's game, not a Planetside game.  Unfortunately recent developements have proven wwiionline will always be a 1st person Planetside style shooter.

 

 

1)  The North Africa Theater.  This will be on a seperate server then the Battle of France-Belgium server.  What strategic reason was Italy, Germany, France, England, America fighting around North Africa?  Oh thats right, it was because LIBYA was such an important ally that needed to be defended.  Uh-Hu.  Just another mindless-shootem upper, about as much depth and logic behind BF1942's Desert backround setting.  (not one continuous map)

2)  Mobile Spawning.  Well this one is just plain wierd.  Think of Planetside Mobile spawn points, it works like that, with a few extra special rules.  There is a minimum AND MAXIMUM distance you can deploy one of these truck-aroos.  Like 1,000 meters minimum and 5,000 meters maximum.  It will cover only about 10% of the total land area of WWIIONLINE.  Why only 10% you ask?  So someone wont be able to spawn spawn a truck from a rear town and resupply an entire town with infantry.  Whats resupply infantry?  Well there is attrition, each unit once killed off wont reappear for 4 hours, so if you can just drive up a truck from a rear town and resupply an entire town whats the point of having attrition in the first place. 

So here you have CRS game mechanics fighting CRS game mechanics on a fundamental level.  Not until lately have I started to believe the programmers over at CRS lack the imagination capable of making it all work.  They have the talent, but no imagination.

    Thats sweet.  CRS is going to TWEAK airfield AA AI really powerful.  God forbid they have to tow bofors out there to defend their own airfield against vulchers, like the 38,928,173,849,573,389,294 vulchers straffing everything that moves on the ground.  Bring bofors, hahahaha.

    Its already easy mode for the flyboys as it is.  They have 3 different spawn points on the airfield (one in front of each hanger), making Mach1 bombing runs on airfields basically a waste of time with a 3 in 1 chance of getting the right spawn point.  Nearby at the FB, you can land 1 bomb in front of the vehicle spawn (1 spawn point for the ground pounders, not 3 spawn points for the spoiled flyboys) and get plenty of kills.

    Like I said, CRS has no imagination.  Game mechanics fighting game mechanics.

    WWIionline is a flight simulator with ground targets, not a combined arms game.  image  Maybe CRS should concentrate on the flight-simulator part, like G-loc, getting rid of 15 gee dives pullouts, mach 0.9 compression, high-altitude bombing (bombs dissapear after 5,000 meters altitude), getting rid of the unbreakable Impossibilium that makes up half the plane, more planes, jabo varients, loadouts, rudders that dont double your roll-rate, rudder that yaws more then rolls................................................................  Hey its a flight simulator with ground targets, might as well strengthen that part of the game, the flight simulator part that is.

    Ask yourself WHY there IS 10 Bofors-AA AI at airfields right now?   Why ISNT 10 AA AI Bofors at every FB and town?  Why is it the ground pounders have to bring out 20 bofors on every attack, and why the spoiled flyboys dont have to bring out a SINGLE BOFORS to defend their airfields?

    In keeping with the spirit of CRS logic, that AA AI at Airfields represents real-life units on the Army-AIr-Force-Flak that players havent spawned in at.  Similar to to the other AI.  Anti-Tank AI, and Anti-Infantry AI.  Similar to why EWS was coded in.   Similar to why Bunker Duty was coded out, you cant have players manning stuff 24/7, its borring.  Following this line of CRS logic, the army never had Anti-Aircraft capability in real life offensive maneuvers (The Foward Base), and in real life the army had an abysmal 1 Machine gun on defence for Anti-Aircraft capability (The Army Base).  Or else there would be 10 BOFORS AA AI at every FB and AB.

    We all know why CRS originally coded in BOFORS-AA AI at the airfields in such huge numbers right?  It was because, about 2 years ago, the axis with their faster planes were wasting allied planes on the ground left an dright, and easilly got away with their higher speeds.  About 2 years ago, the slower allied planes could barely get their gear up before getting killed.  Nerf09, get it?  NERF109?  CRS nerfed me 109?  HAhahaaa.  CRS nerfed the BnZ .


    Crs Nerfed the BnZ with:

    -5 layers of clouds

    -short visual range (fog)

    -uber AA AI at airfields (soon to be beefed up even more)

    -109E-F engine overheats the fastest out of all planes in the game

    I was wrong, you can only deploy one 300-1,300 meters from target (with a few extra special wierd rules).  It wont be 10% of the entire landmass, mobile spawning can now only be used IN LESS THEN 5% of the entire area of land in wwiionline.   WOW.
