Things I love about SE

The things I love about SE:

1)  You just don't click an attribute to advance it...you actually have to earn it by using the skill.

2) No roving parties...unlike most games you find a good camping spot and kill the pops.  Not much fun on paper, but spending hours and hours with 5 other friends was really fun...and standing in the same spot was the best part.

3) The chat system is second to none.  Type on the KB and it goes to chat....no hitting enter or spacebar first.  Wanna cast, mend, or examine, its alt/ctrl + hotkey.

4) casting graphics....the casting graphics in SE games are just plain awesome.

5) everyone has to know their jobs...not only that...even gotta stand in the right spot if a bard is along....none of this random whacking. Skill chains and magic bursts are dabomb.

6) a seeking system thats second to none....even room for a comment, a seek message.

7) emotes...the SE emotes are the best...using just the motions and adding your own chat was just plain fun.

8) storyline and cutscenes...as you progress thru the rank missions there's nice cutscenes and a good storyline.

9) mobs with no level attached...you gotta "con" em to see what level they are.

10) mobs that are weak to certain elements...which makes the casting job that much more interesting.

11) mobs that aggro sound, magic, sight....how kewl is that?  sneak and inviz were fun additions to SE games.

12) the LS system...I just love how you needed a have a pearl equipped to be in that shell...was easy to switch LS's depending on which one you wanted...social or endgame.

13) you had to buy your spells from a vendor, quest item, or a drop.

14) days of the week and moon phases...you know you're playing a kewl game when the crafting gets better on certain days or on a certain moon phase.

15) mobs that only come out at night....I always liked that part about SE...nice touch.

Oh wait...none of these things were carried over to IV...no wonder I hate it...pfft...the biggest thing they screwed up was not putting the macro bar on the UI....now everytime you click alt or ctrl you get the bar....takes away sooooo many hotkey options....duh!!!

Shield has it's own Skill and you need to use it to level it up! That system is now the main class level not weapon skills. It is different but still there just disguised as Class Rank.

    2) No roving parties...unlike most games you find a good camping spot and kill the pops.  Not much fun on paper, but spending hours and hours with 5 other friends was really fun...and standing in the same spot was the best part.

Still the same. You don't stand still and pull but you roam about 5 feet only in current camps.

    3) The chat system is second to none.  Type on the KB and it goes to chat....no hitting enter or spacebar first.  Wanna cast, mend, or examine, its alt/ctrl + hotkey.

Will be in the patch next week

    4) casting graphics....the casting graphics in SE games are just plain awesome.

I like the new casting graphics. Cant wait to see the AM/.

    5) everyone has to know their jobs...not only that...even gotta stand in the right spot if a bard is along....none of this random whacking. Skill chains and magic bursts are dabomb.

Skill chains are there just not used, the same as in FF11. No one uses them anymore and i am really sad it turned out that way. It is not SE's fault however.

    6) a seeking system thats second to none....even room for a comment, a seek message.

The new Seeking system is even better, you can seek specific jobs, amount of players per job and of cause there is room for a huge message. The problem is that ONLY the japanese players use it, the rest is too effing lazy or simply has not even bothered to look at it or tried to understand it.

    7) emotes...the SE emotes are the best...using just the motions and adding your own chat was just plain fun.

There are even more emotes now and they are still awesome.

    8) storyline and cutscenes...as you progress thru the rank missions therStile's nice cutscenes and a good storyline.

Too little right now, i am with you on this!

    9) mobs with no level attached...you gotta "con" em to see what level they are.

Still the same, "con" changes depending on level, party members etc. Just that you don't need to "con" them you can see it as a colored icon.

    10) mobs that are weak to certain elements...which makes the casting job that much more interesting.

Still the same. No way you going to do any serious damage with Blizzard on a Skeleton.

    11) mobs that aggro sound, magic, sight....how kewl is that?  sneak and inviz were fun additions to SE games.

Still there, just don't know if sneak and invisible is there. I think they chagnged it for the abilities that make you inviisble to a family of mobs (Seedkin eluder = not detecable by Marlboros, plants, funguar etc)

    12) the LS system...I just love how you needed a have a pearl equipped to be in that shell...was easy to switch LS's depending on which one you wanted...social or endgame.

Even better now, you can have up to 10 LS equipped at th same time, just switch which one you are talking to.

    13) you had to buy your spells from a vendor, quest item, or a drop.

Gone. Was kinda neat i agrree.

    14) days of the week and moon phases...you know you're playing a kewl game when the crafting gets better on certain days or on a certain moon phase.

Still there and has been explained by SE in a Lodestone Article. Moon phases affect crafting.

    15) mobs that only come out at night....I always liked that part about SE...nice touch.

Still in the game, Skeletons come out at night in Cedarwood.

Oh wait...none of these things were carried over to IV...no wonder I hate it...pfft...the biggest thing they screwed up was not putting the macro bar on the UI....now everytime you click alt or ctrl you get the bar....takes away sooooo many hotkey options....duh!!!

Seriously, i don't know what to say, this is probably the most ridiculous rant i have encountered on this forum. I see you have not played the game much if at all. Too bad you missed most of it judging by this post :)

Since you are leaving as you stated in another thread, i wish you best of luck with your next MMO.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of XIV, but I'd say your slightly wrong on most.

The LS system in the game has to be the worst thing I've ever experienced though.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

I actually have only one problem with the linkshells, the swithcing between them and that you sort of hear all that you are a member in it. Now imagine 10 active and talkactive linkshells. :)

I'm gonna enjoy these company ships an buildings, they are gonna bring into the game along with pvp :). GREATNESS!

Notorious Monsters, cant get enough of killing these :).

the moon phases, day/night, element days, weather, that all effect gameplay. +++ i can see some serious happenings with this game as the moons are incorporated as well.

Airships + Boats. In 11 we had notorious monsters  spawn on boat pirates which came from zilart etc, can happen here worse too. judging the movie sin the cinematics airships wars!!!! the day we spawn wars on our boats here :) GG. its welcome to that nice peaceful boat ride you had before.... not anymore LOL. ff's do get epic over their lifespan lol. the skill chains are coming i repeat lol!

I got 4 now, and it gets pretty active. I'm just waiting on the patch that allows me ot make more chat box tabs and change the colors. Don't mind all the different conbversations if I could seperate them out by color or tab, but right now they all jumble together and it gets hard to keep track of. Good news is it is coming according to thier upcoming patch notes.

As for the OP, almost all of the stuff he says isn't in game is just wrong, wrong. Most of that is in game. Looks like just another rant for the sake of ranting - an attention getter thread nothing more. Sad actually.
