FFXIV Truely Good

Beyond all the bad reviews people give the game, it truely is a great game... I've been playing it for awhile and have found no major reason this game would not be a game worth playing. If you have the money and feel like playing it give it a try, I also still have a trial buddy key available.

There a chance you could throw that buddy trial key my way? I've been looking for a free trial all over the net but apparently the one they're talking about is a buddy key i assume?

I have been really wanting to try this myself. I would enjoy that buddy key immensly

Not to make you feel bad, but when everyone and their mother hates something, there's something wrong with that. That has already been dealt with and beaten to death, so starting your post out like that just invites argument. But I am glad there are people who like the game, without you the game would end utterly rather than what it's down now, which is start slow and gradually become something better. I think I, and most others, would rather wait for the 'better' part to get here.

In the meantime your buddy key isn't very helpful since people still need to buy the client to actually try it. I would hold on to it until they offer a free digital download for people who are looking to try the game out, if they ever do. At the very least make sure whoever takes it knows they can't actually play without the client, which needs to be bought.

I don't even think you can use someone else's download, can you? I sort of remember someone complaining that they had to use a key with the client to register, or some crap, so their friend couldn't use their disc on a separate computer to take advantage of the key. Correct me if I'm wrong!

 Honestly when the devs themselves are admitting the game they made is in horrible shape, I can't see advising anyone to spend money on it.  Anyone reading the op just keep in mind SE themselves said if the people they have lost don't return that the game may not survive.  And it is in such bad shape that those who purchased in the first month have gotten the last two months free (and as I understand it if you go buy it nw you do not get this bonus.

My advice is wait until we see how things shape up before blowing money just so the op has some more people to play with.

Get back to us when you hit lvl 30 (not physical) and then tell us if you still think the same. However, most of those who hate the game get sick of it by the time they hit lvl 20.

When almost everybody agrees (including critics, and SE) that the game is in terrible shape, and one forums poster says the game is great, I usually side with the critics and the creator of the game. FFXIV is a disaster. SE is in disaster management mode right now.

 Well, thats a new concept, tell me what is beyond the problems reported by reviewers that get  paid to review games and those who have played the game reviewers? What is it "beyond" that makes the game worth playing?

Few people who actually enjoy the game are going to take the time to come to a forum to shed the real light... Just cry babies who don't like it are going to forums to flame it... Keep that in mind.

The game is a great experience and people who play FFXI generally love it... It's not much different...

You seem to be swimming upstream against the flow.  Generally people seem to be unhappy with the game regardless of whether they like or dislike FFXI.  (hence the 3.8 overall player scores recently published)

Even the vendor admits the game is flawed and continues to apologize for their role in its poor start by offering free time to people to make up for it.

Monthly sub numbers continue to decline in spite of the efforts, typical for most MMO's I realize but again, it does point less than spectacular game play.

Obviously you like it, but then again most MMO's that are shut down still have people playing them when they go offline so that's not much of an indicator of quality.

And as for people posting why the game is so bad, there's been dozens of threads in these forums which have brought to light the game's deficencies, so no real reason for anyone to rehash that ground yet again.

Now they have addressed some of the issues and from what I understand, a patch this month will bring big improvements as well, but calling FFXIV "truely good" so far was really baiting right from the beginning of this thread with predictable responses of course.

Have to disagree with you here, Kyleran.

Someone posting their opinion of something being good - no matter how many disagree - is no more baiting than someone posting about it being bad - again, no matter how many disagree. There is absolutely nothing offensive in the OP that could fairly be considered baiting.

Of course people are going to pounce on it and start an argument... But that's their problem, not the OP's.

If that's the case, then no one should ever post an opinion about anything, because it could be considered "baiting" by those on the other side.

Now their later statement regarding "cry-babies"... yeah that's a bit inflammatory.

I've enjoyed the game since day 1 and continue to this day and now I'm baiting because in my opinion I enjoy the game and want to provide my experienced opinion to others who might be believeing a bunch of posts by people who never reached level 10....

... and it's still irrelevant to the fact that his OP, wherein he stated an opinion, albeit an unpopular one, was not baiting. That's the point of contention here. Whatever he said after that takes nothing away from it.

 I'm new to these forums too. As far as I can tell, baiting is any comment you make that a majority of people do not agree with and they feel compelled to jump up and down on your head over. Like saying anything nice about FFXIV as the OP did in this thread. Appearantly your supposed to be 100% neutral and say nothing that might offend or be determined 'wrong' by another user. If the other user 'feels' your opinion is 'forcing' them to respond, they can report you for baiting and you will be warned or banned. At least thats how it appears to work here anyway.

Basically, dont say anything if others may disagree with you is the safest policy.
