I used to play WoW a long time ago and I left due to the HUGE Raid parties that were required to partially clear out some instances, also the insane number of hours required to Raid pretty much anything at all. Now I used to play a Hunter and if I came back most likely I'd play one again so as far as the class is concerned I'm good to go. The problem is that I'm very tired of Raiding 5-6 hours with say 40 people to get 1 piece of gear for someone I don't even know or worse not even in my (if I was in one) Guild. I have heard that they have introduced instantances and dungeons sorta like the PvP que where a group can be quickly put together, placed in an area and do a nice dungeon crawl to the end and everyone gets decent to good loot. Is this true? Also will doing this take me to end game and get me gear that will allow me to survive the PvE world either soloing or doing this missions? I'm a quester and crafter at heart so please take that in consideration.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, they have something called a dungeon finder that groups you up with other people to do dungeons. These people come from not just your server, but other servers in your battlegroup.

Yes, you can go the entire way by doing dungeons over and over again. And you can easily get to endgame this way. Tanks have an almost instant queue while DPS takes longer to queue. Healers also have a fast queue.

Questing is the heart of the WoW solo experience. Cata is coming and that part of it has been improved greatly for levels 1-60. If you are a fan of questing, this game really shines. As for crafting, this game is not so amazing when it comes to crafting. Actually, it is poor in this category. Especially when you get to max level. You can basically usually afford to use gold to level up professions to max in a few hours.
Edit: And to answer the title, the drops from instances are better and more common than they used to be.
Yeah they have random Q's for dungons based on your level. Which will put you in a pug that fills from other servers, much like battle grounds pop' within your battle group.
They also have whats called gear score. With is a point system based off of the gear you have. The better the gear the higher the score. So to get into a high-end raid they require a minimum gear score, if you dont meet it you dont get to play.
Its kind of elitiest, but its what WoW end game has evolved into. So what Im kind of saying is, if your gear score is low you wont be invited to raid, and even if you manage a pug raid and your gear score is to low for the instance a lot of times they will vote kick you out.
So dont wory about end game raiding, you wont be able to do it even if you wanted too
"I understand that if I hear any more words come pouring out of your **** mouth, Ill have to eat every fucking chicken in this room."
No, gearscore just turned pugging into that. Any good guild will not use gearscore to judge your character.
If you need to pug raids, it should either be out of bordem or just to have fun and show off, also part of bordem. Join a guild to raid, your chances of getting something will skyrocket and you actually have more fun doing it.
Thanks for the responses.
I'm not very interested in Raiding in WoW. I doubt I'll be playing it that long anyway at least until GW2 and Rift either goes into Beta or Gold. I've been in Raid Guilds so long and quite frankly I'm tired of the whole attitude that "you have to be there" sorta thing. I just want a casual game feel but one that feels like I'm doing something and having a good time.
Thanks again.
