Which game provides the best feeling of social cohesion?

You know, some games force you to be in a guild or setup a group to achieve things.

Sometimes, a guild is just giving you a second name below your character name, but there are no special features attached to it. On the other hand, you might be able to conquer a castle and put up flags or standards with your guild sign. Eventually you will get money or influence this way.

Same thing goes to grouping. You might be able to to do a lot of things in World of Warcraft by your own. Contrary to games like WoW -for instance "Lord of the Rings Online"- provide some more group based quests... and as you progress, a group will most likely become a necessity to advance within the game.

So, in your opinion, which game is doing best in forcing you into some sort of small-scale community? And if it does, does it feel comfortable or rather like a nuisance?

    Boooo

My guess would be a game like Darkfall and the like.

I dont know. I believe that PvP centered games give a better sense within a guild community since you all have a vested interest in the outcome (survival). The problem with those games is getting into a suitable guild... cause until you get into an established succesful guild , PvP centered MMO games are grueling.
