i think Cataclysm will be the last expansion of WoW, probably Deathwing will be so strong that even if the whole (1-85) Alliance and Horde help each other, they wont last long enough to take more than 2% of His total health... then Deathwing will come and go, ravaging the lands until its all lava and water and characters die because there is no safe place to stand and there wont be spirit healers so the game will end
[object Window]
i really hope this happens, because WoW is so old.. just like CS 1.6, it has to die, people should at least be playing Source
Problem: Wow is the most succesful video game in $ ever.
Wow is just as old as its latest expansion. This applies certainly to Cataclysm with its Azeroth 2 version, complete redone classes and rated Battlegrounds.
So on Dec 8th Cata is exaclty one day old. You[object Window]ll see it as best selling MMORPG ever on those charts.
Happy birthday btw. Wow is now in its first year of primary school. Not that it matters much for a non living monster: you[object Window]ll see [object Window]Warcraft[object Window] lore games until the day ... you die m8.
You[object Window]ll have to learn to live with that.
Problem: WoW is really old, Blizzard are working on a new MMO, they wont have a problem with supporting WoW till the new one is out, then they will slowly starting to kill WoW, or just let it die on its own, because everyone will play theire new MMO, if you[object Window]re some kind of a WoW fanboy, im sorry for you, but this is it, WoW WILL DIE, it wont be in 1-2 years but it will, who[object Window]s playing Super Mario Bros. or Pac Man these days? thik about it before blindly defend your only reason to libe, [object Window]m8[object Window].
[object Window]
you will one day learn that [object Window]Whatever has a beginning, has an end as well.[object Window]

and then you have games like Ultima Online, Everquest, Anarchy Online
- that still has servers supporting fans .. 13 years later
If you dont like it dont play it. I think this thread would be better if it said " man just been playing 1 week and all ready 85." Then you have something to back up your bashing of WOW. You must be very new to MMO's. This kind of thing always happens with every new and old MMO.
But when you have lots of friends to play with.. its like any mmo is a blast for them. move on..
Please. People got to the max level in a week during both BC and Wrath. Three days, maybe two.
"Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true you know it, and they know it." Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007
to me nothing looks better then WoW now, so I juts hope Cata will not make it fail.
on my opinion Cata is not an expansion but "lifting", which makes it less attractive for me. reminds me badly of "old broiler dressed like spring chicken".
try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises. Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2
There are 4,000 quests being added today to revamp the entire 1-60 experience. A lot of players, myself included, will be doing the majority of them over the next 2 years. You can level basically 6 characters from 1-60 and never do the same quest twice.
If people 'want' to race to 85, that is their choice. On my mains, I will be doing every quest from 80-85. I'll be doing dungeons as a ievel. I'll have a bunch of alts going ( worg druid, goblin spriest) etc. I'll also be doing WG2.0 frequently.
The people who race to 85, then get bored with the item grind CHOOSE to play that way. There never is any incentive to be 'bleeding' edge except to say you are 'bleeding' edge. I never raced to do anything. I enjoyed all the content and questing available, I played many many alts.. and in the past 2 years, I saw all of the content, same as the people who raced to 80 in 3 days... my average gear is almost as good as possible, but who cares if they have ilvl 280 and i have ilvl 270. I saw and beat all the content, and in two weeks, the gear resets. There is just no motive to be 'fast' unless it is in your own head.

guess wow will be as empty as that one day either WoW II or Diablo or StarCraft MMO, or something brand new, maybe Vikings is Blizzard[object Window]s next big project
Please. People got to the max level in a week during both BC and Wrath. Three days, maybe two.
There were people who got to 80 the day after Wrath released. Today people at most remember that the guy who was in the lead got banned for exploiting. It was like one of those freaky things people do to get into the Guiness Book of World Records and noone cares about it until it pops up on some trivia show.
No offense but this is pretty much a dumb post. If you want to enjoy the game 1-80. Then enjoy it. Do quests and shit. It will take you way longer than 5 days to hit 1-80 if you do it that way, or if you just wanna get a bunch of 80s fast. You can get to 1-80 in a matter of 3 days. Its all up to personal preference.
It's a different experience not brand new. Not every zone got a total revamp, in fact, you'll be surprised at how many zone stayed the same outside of the minimal graphic change.
There are 4,000 quests being added today to revamp the entire 1-60 experience.
LOL wut?
That's probably the total number of quest the game has and some which are new. And new being that while you killed Nagas in Nothern Darkshore before now you kill Trolls.
I dont understand why everyone saying, oh things are gonna be the same...get to the cap and grind for gear, AGAIN! From every other game I've played...when you get to end game, and to its newest expansion, you either.....PVP, grind gear, raid and/or experience the content. What else is there to expect? Seems about right to me....
The people who complain the most about faster leveling curves tend to be the ones that when they walk outside during the day, they vaporize.
It's a general trend for everyone in the world, everything is work work work, grind grind grind, power, money, and things to buy! The reason why there are so many complaints is because people don't take their time anymore. It's all about competition and rush.
Finding your own fun doesn't exist if you play a game under the parameters of duress or work. I kinda feel bad for powerlevelers and grinders. They will never be satisfied or find lasting pleasure. Kind of pitiful to think about.

This. People who complain fast leveling are people who play a lot per day and try to level up as fast as they can. I mean if it takes someone who plays 8 hours per day a whole week to get to level 85 that's 72 hours. Now people who play 1-2 hours per day will level up a lot slower.
So basically haters will hate.

Dude seriously get a clue. Why don't you go troll a game you have actually played mkay? Have you played WoW past the trial? And have you played the new quests to make statements that they only changed this and that?
i love new graphics, quests changed / added, new mount from goblin rep is cool, so i do non stop rep runs with tabard, choose my home in TB now, more privacy as Orgrimar IMO.
my mage made insane cash by selling portals=XD
so guys now all who wanted to get rid of them will pay us money. =D
i guess it good stuff to play for sometime again, hope for GW2 or may be Diabolo III soon

All depends how many hours you play each day. To me blizzard wants ppl faster to experiance endgame. And honeslty if you dont do lfg instance and focus on quest only 1-60 and so on will take a somewhat long time.but still fast comparade to maybe other games. Right now doing lfg you dont need to do quest at all at least 15 to 50 after that the exp curve lvls out a bit at least in lfg. And to be totally honest the mmorg that doesnt make you grind in endgame for whatever purpose doesnt exist. And if it does its probably a sim game of some sort. questing is far faster 15-80 than the dungeon finder, I've levelled 3 toons to 80 questing only where my friend with very comprable play time wanted to LFG only, she's still 78 on the first toon.
not if you are a healer. You can get back to back groups non stop. In fact, more times than not, I have had the same group simply queue up as a group right after the last boss just so there is no wait. My druid can get a level in about an hour of back to back scarlet monastery speed runs.
Even back to back grouping like that is still slower than someone powering through quests. My buddy rolled a holy priest right as I made a ret pally. He only did dungeons, I quested. We played for about the same length of time everyday. At the end I'd completely outstripped him in levels. Wasn't even close.

Well after playing Wow in the early days and not at all for the last five years, I will certainly give it a go now:)
