Yep. Well, I am rarely surprised when I see someone who can't be bothered with the complexities of capitalization, spelling, and grammar move over to a more simple game like WoW.
You are right, before the EQ2 release (but after the EQ2 beta servers shut down), I played WoW open beta to pass the time thinking it would be a fun diversion before EQ2 came out. Man, it was like eating tofu!

I don't know. I use "complexities" of punctuation just fine. I moved from EQ2 to WoW. It is a different game. Is it simpler? I suppose so. Does that make it bad? Not in my opinion. It is a game after all. And personally, I play to enjoy. I don't need to be punished at every turn, which seems to be the way of EQ2. Again, just my opinion.
Why you seem to think your so smart, I don't know. But playing for fun isn't a bad thing.
Your just jealous because the voices only speak to me.

It's amusing when people seem to go out of their way to try to start an arguement. His post didn't say EVERYONE who plays WoW can't be bothered with complexities of punctuation and wasn't even talking about your post. I don't understand why those of you who support WoW bother to come to the EQ2 forums to start flame wars. If your game is that gosh darn good, why aren't you playing it instead of trolling the EQ2 forums?
Actually, I forgot to put a in the post I made, in order to lighten it up a bit. I forgot. Oops! Doesn't matter to the point I was trying to make, though.

WoW is as complicated as it needs to be, and no more complicated.
The interface is as complex as necessary, and no more complex.
The crafting system isn't geared towards making the player feel like they worked, it's geared towards allowing them to achieve reasonably achievable objectives while enjoying the process.
I find it amusing that you think EQ2 is a complex game. I found its constant hand-holding approach almost suffocating when I beta'd it, but any gamer who isn't turned off from the start by the overlong patronizing tutorial was probably born to play it.
Note that in WoW you're dropped right into the game with a few pointers occasionally appearing in the guise of a small question mark which you can click on for help only if you need it . Blizzard obviously assume you can differentiate your ass from your elbow.
You dont have to play the tutorial... You can turn it off in the beggining. Funny that WoW has to make it so easy to do everything, ? to tell quests, and they have ! to show where you take it to. Come on, make it a little more difficult. The Auction house is another thing, you drop your item off and let it sell. Mines and resources show up on your mini map, just to make sure it easy enough. Crafting has a "create all" button, so you dont have to take time to craft. I think WoW is a little bit to easy.

Blizzard's system is plainly better. You can click the question mark at any time if you need advice, whereas in EQ2 you either do the whole tutorial, or you do none of it.

It wouldn't be "more difficult", it would be "unnecessarily frustrating". Having to find the NPC who gave you a quest when you can have hundreds in your quest log is just unreasonable, and is a concrete example of bad game design.

All great points to illustrate how accessible WoW is. It isn't "easy", it just isn't unnecessarily complicated.

Trolling is in the eye of the beholder. I've said nothing to personally attack anyone (trolling), and I don't plan to, but you'll usually find when someone's losing an argument on the internet they'll start using the words "troll" and "fanboy" for lack of a more cohesive or sturdy interjection.

Actually, no, here we're using the word "troll" to describe useless posting. An example of that is coming to the EQ2 forum and posting how great WoW is. Useless. Another fine example is going to the WoW forum and posting how great EQ2 is. Useless.
There's absolutely no GOOD reason to do it other than to start an arguement. That is a troll post. If I want to learn about how awesome WoW is, I'll go to the WoW forum and read it there.
So, trolling is NOT in the "eye of the beholder". It's a clearly laid down fact.
