2010 is drawing to a close. Let's check out what good new MMOs in 2010?
Final Fantasy XIV
Final Fantasy XIV, also known as Final Fantasy XIV Online, is the fourteenth installment in the Final Fantasy series, released in September 2010. More than just a sequel to Final Fantasy XI, this is a whole new game with a very different approach to online gaming. Playing on your own is now just as rewarding as battling in groups and your character's progression and growth is achieved by using and refining your existing skills, rather than just earning general experience points. Likewise you can change jobs simply by taking up a different weapon or item, from sword to blacksmith's hammer, although specialising in the game's four disciplines (war, magic, land and hand) will always give you an advantage. The end result is a more accessible and varied experience than any other online game and the most exciting Final Fantasy yet.
Battle of the Immortals
Battle of the Immortals is an action MMORPG that blends Norse mythology with a Qin Dynasty era Chinese game world. The game has many staple features such as pets, mounts, PvP combat, and an auto-navigate system but also has plenty of new innovations. Among these is the Soul Gear system in which equipment gains experience and grows with use. Additionally, the Zodiac System grants characters special powers at certain times depending on their character’s selected birthday.
Dynasty Warriors Online
Dynasty Warriors Online is the MMORPG version of the famous hack-and-slash console series. Like many Asian MMORPGs, DWO is set in the Three Kingdoms period, but this time players can jump straight into the action. Dynasty Warriors Online has fast-paced combat where players will be striking down hordes of enemies with every swing. Each weapon type has different stats, such as reach, power, and speed. Players must decide which weapons to use and upgrade. There is a ton of PvE and PvP content in the game, but like the console versions, battles themselves are instanced. Up to twenty-four users can take part in a battle, and each team must work together to capture bases and kill as many enemies as possible.
Dynasty Warriors Online is a 3D fantasy MMORPG set in medieval China. Players can take part in massive battles that contain both fast-paced, live-action, tactical gameplay. Battle for control of China during the Three Kingdoms period! Take part in epic, large-scale, instanced battles in DWO!
Iris Online
Iris is a MMORPG blending medieval fantasy element and Gypsy ethnic group style. It offers dungeon and PVP gameplay In Iris, there are three races available for selection, Human, Orc and Elf. Another selling point of Iris is Tarot Card originated from the Middle Age Italy. There are totally 78 cards. 22 are Major Arcana and 56 are Minor Arcana. Using these cards, players can enhance skills, transform into monsters, etc. They can even attach Tarot cards on their weapons to gain special abilities.

You put ff14 in the best games pool? must be soemthing wrong... maybe you would like to say: 2010 best crashes.
Why is ff14 in the list? Make the worst list and put it there ..on the top imo.
Just a plug for the voting site. I would not be suprised if some of these plugs were paid.
One of those sites that mean nothing, can vote multipule time per day so it is meaningless.
I don't think I played anything from 2010 for more than a trial....
North Korea attacked South Korea after reading this thread.
this is a mission impossible, because there was no "good" game in 2010. the most interesting one from my point of view was Uncharted Waters. i would give it a weak C on a scala from A to F. so i am sorry, there are no B-games this year. not dreaming of an A-game at all. most of the games i found with your link are F-games, just a few D.
2010 was one of the worst years for MMO-players ever.
played: Everquest I (6 years), EVE (3 years)
months: EQII, Vanguard, Siedler Online, SWTOR, Guild Wars 2
weeks: WoW, Shaiya, Darkfall, Florensia, Entropia, Aion, Lotro, Fallen Earth, Uncharted Waters
days: DDO, RoM, FFXIV, STO, Atlantica, PotBS, Maestia, WAR, AoC, Gods&Heroes, Cultures, RIFT, Forsaken World, Allodds
Is this a trick question ?
more a rhetorical one ....
2010 was so bad for MMOs it made 2007 and 2008 look good.
I have to agree with Jim.
lol
Now seriously... bad year is bad.
FFXIV are you serious?
It was a HORRIBLE year for new MMO's. Hate to be so friggin' negative, but there it is. F2P LotRO was the best thing to happen this year. If you're not a LotRO fan, you got NUTTIN' this year.
You're forgetting Allods online in that contest. It came out in 2010 and is a better F2P than a lot of the games mentioned in the contest.
It's like trying to find the best smelling poo - unless you really love poo (not judging anyone) you can't ignore the fact that it's still all shit. Hurray!
Perpetuum if it makes it in time
Global Agenda is a great MMO that released this year, why isn't it on the list?
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
Red Dead Redemption in multiplayer?
Seriously, this year was horrendous, maybe Cata for WoW when it releases but thats not new.
We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!
"Everything you're bitching about is wrong. People don't have the time to invest in corpse runs, impossible zones, or long winded quests. Sometimes, they just want to pop on and play."
"Then maybe MMORPGs aren't for you."
I'll probably make my vote of the mind-challenging options at the end of this youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8wD8fTBS8E
I like Iris online. I voted for it.
I've suffered from a chronic case of *meh* after wow came out.Everyone wants to be the brainless ca$hcow gorilla.
None of them have held my attention sadly, even eq2 fell prey to mindless garbage syndrome.
That is easy, NONE of the above. Hopefully 2011 will be better.
There's been a lot of good multiplayer games that have came out this year.
RDR as someone said is still fun.
AC Brotherhood I can't speak enough of.
MMORPGs? Uh.. LotRO F2P is the only clear winner I've seen.
Tho' I think stricter rules would probably put Vindictus as the main success story for 2010 in the genre that's new.
you are missing a lot of games releasing this year -.-
Vindictus was hyped a lot in USA, LOTRO and EQ2 explored f2p option, forsaken world (if you are gonna put FFXIV on the list, that game's crash made the fw closed beta fail looked like a baby on a roller-coaster), half a dozen chinese mmo thats better than dynasty warrior online
How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.
