I want a MMO game where a quest might last 3 days or so to complete. Of course there would have to be opportunities along the way to advance your character as well. Only one quest at a time here and if the quest proved to difficult you could cancel it and take up another different quest. No kill x mobs and return to npc crap either. This would be the perfect sandbox based game. Imaging telling my friends when im at work or somewhere that when I get home I cannot go to bed cause I must venture out into the wilderness on a quest. The same quest I was on yesterday.

Yeah please make sure to tell this to all girls you meet at work or somewhere too. Stuff like this turns them on.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
Probably not. I prefer the quest chain, since it breaks that 3 day quest down into smaller chunks. Same outcome, just a more accessible way of getting there.
Playing - EVE, Wurm
Retired - Final Fantasy XI, Anarchy Online, Mabinogi
Waiting - ArcheAge, Salem
The majority of my quests last over 3 days, hehe.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
My girlfriend already puts more time in an MMO than I do. had to buy a second computer so we could stop fighting over the computer.
Personally, I would love to have a quest, or, missions, that takes weeks to complete, especially, if its tied to a very great story line, or, has a bases within the world storyline itself. Great example is the small 6 hour missions that Eve has, forget the arc stories, would love to do a mission in Eve that actually has greater merit within the Eve Universe, even so much as a great story arc that actually gets you a medal from a faction itself, let alone something of great value.
I remember when EQ2 came close. They used to have a few quests that you would be lucky to finish in a day. That was awesome! Sometimes you might of had to go through several groups to complete it.
Have you played WoW back when Rhok was endgame? Yes, WoW had it. Nothing new for me. But the limit to one quest overall will not fly.
Excellent!
One of the things i loved about city of heroes was their task force system where it required a group of people working together from anywhere between 1 hour and 6-8 hours dependant on which one you were doing.
If I had a reliable group of people to do a 3 day one with? I'd definately be interested.
If they're gamer girls, then yes. Yes it would.
You don't have to be an a-hole just because someone else loves adventure and the sense of excitement of rushing home to play a thrilling video game.
It's called enjoying life. Don't miss it while you're busy collecting herpes.

The old stigmas still exist when it comes to talking about gaming with friends and workmates but they're slowly disappearing. 5 or 10 years ago it'd be all funny looks and derisive comments but as the internet has taken hold on peoples lives i find that nowadays it tends to be half n half... games? "lolkid" and "oh, funny you should say that i was thinking of trying...".
EQ had tons of quests like this. My Epic Wiz quest took forever!
Ahhh yes I had forgoten about those .. Nice!
Of course.
In Lineage 2, for sub-class quests or to continue one's progression there were very long quests that in the end required some sort of boss (or three in one case) to be taken down.
I got to prick Baium's ankle and have my head stomped on.

Now days usually when I tell the guys at work I even play computer games they just give a retarded look and a snide comment about how I need to grow up and get with the real world.(I'm 50 yrs old) Then they all resume the football talk and how they are going to the game tonight all liquored up and with thier entire face painted different colors and what kind of an animal they are going dressed as. Yeah they are all way more mature than I am. I think they are all just jealous cause I make more money than them and have more fun. Oh I also play rock guitar in a band.
More 50 year olds need to play rock guitar in a band.
I wonder if we work at the same place?

It would be kind of like playing HalfLife 2 or something. I think that could be cool. I would probably go to work and talk about it, but that's because I'm a nerd. Which I'm find with.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I never made it far enough in L2 to see any of that stuff Sovrath, but I have heard stories. Man I really liked that game.. I would prob play it if the population would pick up and if they would only change a few extremely annoying things. Waiting on that other ship to leave the peer so my ship could dock there next drove me absolutly nuts sometimes.
Geek P0war! Rawr!
I also build and repair computers. Am I really a geek? Helz yes and loving every minute of it! Didn't know you played Sovrath that is aweseome my man!
Speaking of L2 >>> Is this true?

Maybe I should check this out!
Low-Brow people are simply that... Low-Brow.
They lack the intelligence or open-mindedness to understand that other things in life are enjoyable to other people, and that their small worlds are not the only thing that matters.
It's disappointing when people are unable to comprehend why a group of people treat attending a LAN party the equivalent of attending a football game. They don't understand because they lack the insight to think outside of their narrow minds and small worlds.
Like all of the ditzy blondes who treat even the best of guys as if they're retarded or weird simply because they prefer to read a book or play a game instead of...um...well, nothing. Ditzy blondes don't actually do anything in life. They don't really shop, they just put on makeup for 5 hours and sleep a lot. If they work, then they do that most of the time.
I am the type of person who people laugh with and enjoy even when I say stupid things. Girls pretend to be interested if I talk about nerd things they can't even fathom in their narrow brains. Does that prevent more narrow-minded people from looking at me like I'm retarded? No. Once a redneck, stuck a redneck. LoL.
Low-Brow is almost as bad as Ditzy Blonde. Almost.

Love your comment man? Can I use it on Facebook? I couldna said it any better!
Imagine how many people are going to work talking about Call of Duty: Black Ops.
The week this released, EVERYONE was talking about it. If you didn't know of someone bragging about getting it...you must be sleeping too much.
Console games are so mainstream, even rednecks incapable of intellectual thought brag about playing Call of Duty, lol.

Please do.
I feel like I did the world an injustice by not explaining how ditzy some women can be.
I never go to Hooters, but I decided to try it out recently. The girls that work there are a new level of brainless I have never before experienced in my life. I knew stupid people. I knew ditzy people. I knew people so wrapped up in their own world they're oblivious to everything around them.
But combined and multiplied in intensity? Holy crap. I never knew someone could fail at understanding what Dr.Pepper is when they serve it non-stop 40 hours a week.
And never. never. NEVER ask what the soup of the day is at Hooters. Your waitress will return to your table 5 times before finding out what it is- and 3 times after that because she forgot what it was from the time it took her to get from the kitchen back to your table (5 seconds)
