Can you map movement to the cursor keys yet? I don't do WASD.
Have they added tons of mobs to the empty areas yet? Moving outside the starting area was like going into a deserted wilderness before?
They haven't implemented changing the movement keys yet, though I know that's slated for one of these two updates... I guess it'll be in the Dec update.
As for mob placement, I know they've adjusted placement and quantity of mobs overall throughout the different areas. I know I've seen numerous pockets of mobs that I've been able to level my skills up on pretty consistently. I'm around Gridania, so it's funguars and the such.
Haven't been outside LL or Uldah really, so can't speak to those areas really.
They've also changed up the location of leve mobs.. which has thrown a few folks off who thought they knew exactly where to go heheh.
You can change the movement keys. I re mapped my entire keyboard with new settings in configure menu. I don"t use menu anymore just click J for quest journal, A for attribute and I for inventory and so on.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Oh? Hmmm okay, I must have been doing something wrong. I tried changing them prior to that post and kept getting a message that those keys couldn't be modified or something.
I stand corrected.

Use delete on your keyboard to change the default key settings. Most of the numerical keys are fixed. But others keys can be modified.

Square Enix is going to grab a strong hold on PS3 market while already failed in PC market, so I think it doesnt matter how they tweak the UI from worse to better status, however, still far away from being Good.
After watching several reviews on Youtube, the problem is not just UI, you still need to do many clicks and browse through the entire UI to get one simple job done. In the past, you may lost in the UI maze, now, you may not lost in the UI, which it means better.
Well, they need to do something drastically then, because last time i checked, the PS3 version had been delayed 6 months (march 2011) and even that date might slip, given that there are a few complications apparently that might make releasing on the ps3 at all, something of an issue... i dont think the game has failed on the PC though, its just that there are so many problems with the UI that the takeup isnt that great, chances are the only people who will play it will be the die hard fans that will play it no matter how many problems they encounter, good for them, me, im not so patient however, so in its current state im not even tempted to try it, with so many games already out that don't have all these UI issues (among others!) theres no need to waste time on a game that isnt ready. Maybe when its finally fixed and the UI isnt such a game breaker. until then.. i'll be having fun elsewhere!
Botching the release is going to go badly for FFXIV. I tried to really commit hard to get the game at first, but this resulted in harder burnout than those who didn't. So, I hear the game's got a big megapatch, I read about it and looks good, but the burnout prevents me from wanting to log in and try it. It's really tough when you lose your release-day audience like that.

Thanks for the response. I may take a second look in the New Year.

Re-mapping the movement keys is one thing, but can they be re-mapped to the cursor keys? That's what I'm after.
