My opinion + Deathknights

Hello everyone,

I've been playing wow since august now and I have to say i really enjoyed my time in game so far! I have a lvl 40 human paladin (that i dont play anymore) and a beautifull lvl 50 undead warlock, just love him and his aoe's :D

I am a casual player and have to say blizzard did a good job by making the game accesible to casual players like me! The random dungeon system is just awesome and in that way you dont have to be scared of having crappy gear. Yea i know on my lvl it doesn't really matter but i like to have some better gear lol.

Maybe i am just lucky but the community is nice, really nice. If you find a noob friendly guild they are all willing to help you and give you whatever you want, so i dont have to be scared of running out of money :)

So i really dont understand why people say wow is going to die because this mmorpg has everything i was looking for!

Now the second part of my post :)

I was thinking about creating a deathknight, but is it goog class for awesome dps in pve?

Thanks people :)

DK's make excellent melee dps. DKs are not ranged dps because the majority of their damage comes from melee attacks.

They are melee dps (or tanks). They are basically WoW's version of a shadow knight.

I play a Blood DK.   That is the tank spec for DK's.  It is awesome in PvE for tanking and just leveling.  I can solo 5 player group quest - I know it seems OP right?  She just can't do extreme DPS but she can take a mess laod of damage and stay alive - she is sitting pretty on 55k health.   In PvP...the only classes we have hard time beating are the self healers, like Pallies.  Pallies that know how to play their class will out last you.   Every once in awhile you'll best a pally in a fight...most of the time it either ends in a draw...or you are dead.

I tried the other two specs...Frost and Unholy and Blood in my opinion is superior.    :)

Scratch what I said above.   It seems Blizzard nerfed the frak out of us in the last couple of patches.   Didn't know this.  I haven't played in a bit.   They took almost 7k in armor away and gutted our self heals.   So I dunno.  You are safer going with Pally.  They are always getting buffed...in fact this last patch they did get buffed!  Go figure!

I parked my main warlock for a blood spec death knight quite a long time ago out of our guilds need for a tank.  Ya, I tanked blood before blood was a tank spec.  it just worked for my playstyle using a 2h weapon.  I just never got around to picking up two weapons for frost  tanking.

at any rate, theyre very versitile as pve'rs and very resilient in pvp.  i've only played locks, shamans, warriors and rogues and so far I really enjoy the death knight.  Part of the reason is that all three trees of talents play very similiar in that you want to apply diseases, spread diseases and exploit abilities that do additional damage with high amounts of runic power and applied diseases.

so, its very easy to go from tanking which is what I mainly do, to DPS and not get twisted around by an extremely different rotation.  However I think as far as their utilities go in raids, they make much better tanks than DPSers.  As far as solo PVE goes, theyre butter.   PvP, they dont have too many good tools for avoidance but thats not really what you're going to be doing as a DK in PvP.  They can control pretty well, but theyre definitely no longer one of the better of the PvP classes.

are they awesome DPS?  They can be, but theyre not as easily to hit high DPS like mages and rogues (ya.. rogues are actually doing quite well now).  Thats not to say you wont out dps them, it just requires a bit more rotation management.
