Another insane week, and American Thanksgiving at the same time. Not sure if the in-laws were more stressful or the job, but hey - this kind of madness is clearly what we signed up for when we took on this task.
So in the spirit of keeping everyone up to date (ie sticking to our core mission of putting gamers first) - this week I am going to share our current thinking about how we will split "Basic" vs "Premium" accounts in APB: Reloaded.
When you turn a game into a Free2Play game, we generally expect that there will be several times more players playing the game than during its original run (mostly because people want to come check the game out, and since it's free the game tends to spread like wildfire once players are having a good time in the game). This is great for the gamers in general (more new players = more cannon-fodder for the experienced players), but clearly puts stress on all our systems (which in the end costs a lot of money to operate). The goal then becomes nudging the most hardcore players into "Premium" account status, in order to help pay the bills, while also letting people lease weapons and perform micro transactions for other items (usually various consumables).

APB needs one thing. A way to control all the hacks and exploits. Game is pretty fun besides that.

That's been my major gripe as well. Major gripe, mind you. Settle and control that, and then lets bicker about the smaller things, though match-making around appropriate ranked opponents must be one of the other top things on the development 'to-do' list.
I agree. I should have said it needs one thing for me to give it another try.
This game is really a lot of fun. Too bad what happened to it.

An EX RTW employee claim that they had caught up with the PB problems just as they where gonna release 1,5 and K2 claim to have found the issues and sorted it out as well.
Matchmaking was fine at the end, when the go ready system was launched
Ok we all know hackers are one step ahead at all times, war rock is an utter dissapointment towards K2 and G1st. This article states what I have said as soon as I heard about APB goign F2P, if you read the article all they use as defense for making probably about 80% of the BEST BITS for Premium PAYING Players, is SERVER COSTS... They used that excuse for WarRock K2's other shooter, its RIDDLED with hackers, they even make rooms on the servers for ''Only Hackers!'' and they sell about 80-90% of the decent weaponry as micro-trans and make most only available to Premium Players....if you like Pay 2 win!!! By god this is it....
All the old school players who played APB from RTW... Your probably going to end up walking away.. its turning into your typical, '''hahaha I has money now die bitch''', scenario.
Gamers First? ...Nah.. Paying Customers First
-sad face-
This game is shallow and pointless. A RPG it is not.
A counterstrike game it is.
This games needs to find a grave and die properly. F2P is the grave it seeks.
Some Cu*t company is going to milk it till it dies properly though.
