What would be the Perfect MMO for you? What aspects would you want in the game... should it be a fantasy or sci-fi game... should it have PvP? in short just describe how the perfect MMO should look like

Have as many options as possible with as little restrictions as possible. Maybe have an alternates doors system where you have sci-fi in a place, fantasy on another and so on(like planescape kinda).
Putting a PvE sword in a PvP zone is something that should never happen, and so on with that type of exemples.

Mafia.
A game like Mafia only mmo. A big map with 3 or more Families with have like 50 to 100 members and offcourse there should be a lot of jobs, like banker, car repair man or car salesman and so on. OR
Battlefield only a lot bigger or WWII online, but faster (like Planetside only a ww2 theme). OR
Setllers in 3d and as a mmo. Every ocopation is done by a person (multiply person per building)
I like Fantasy settings, but if it was a sci-fi setting that fit this very nice i might do it.
It would need to be driven By PVP, but have a point to that pvp not just get stuff or feel cool. It would need a very deep and exciting story that you can get involved with if you wanted. The story should be driven by world events, and should be kept secret from the public but maybe hinted at so you dont miss any sweet action. Their should be fun quests (even if there are not as many quests as other games), that make you feel involved with the world and story and give you/your group good bonuses if they are long and hard. I'm not talking go kill 5 grizlyquadraticmultidisfunctioners and take out its spleen to give to some sexy npc that will then give you a reward. I'm talking involved complexe quests that take an hour or more (I wouldnt mind 5 hours+) and are based on your class/skill or for groups. Also their should be worldwide quests that can effect the story, If you dont finish the task on time then it will have catastrophic affects on the world and take even longer to fix.
I think a decent PvP setup would be where you can fight for the evil side, or the good side. The people running the game have an outline on what the overall story will be but let people fighting for good or evil have an effect on the story outcome. Also with PvP i like a large array of characters, and decent balance where every class can be killed by another type of deal.
As for PvE, either make it exciting somehow or make it shorter I hate spending months and months churning out a character by standing at a mob camp for 8 hours a day. I also like feeling tough against creatures, Maybe drop very destructive items to kill creatures with but dont let them be used in PvP areas. For areas, i like the idea of having a Non-PvP base where you can get high in level, maybe say 40 out of 60 or so, and then having the harder areas PvP. Or maybe have it setup where you can get 60 in the non-pvp area but its a lot faster in the real world (pvp areas).
Another thing, I love seeing variaty on the avitars having only 2 or 3 looks for your class is boring. At least add dye or something to the game with a lot of dif colors you can change your cloth/metals to.
I was also thinking more realistic fighting, like have a long bow shoot farther but do less dmg far away and miss more often and be leathal up close. I dont think one shot to the head would be fun, but maybe one shot to the head take off 1/3-1/2 of your life. A crossbow should have shorter range, but penatrate armor more than an arrow. Swords should penetrate some armors easily, hamers should crush heavy armor. stuff like that.
I think Dark and Light will fit this better than any other around the horizon, so that will most likely be my new home when it launches. anyways, enough of my ramble
The perfect MMO has never been made nor will it ever be made.
Depence what you difine under perfect offcourse. As long technogoly will become better the mmo will. But it was not the question will there be a perfect game, but what do you will find the perfect mmo.
My (almost) perfect mmorpg design concept can be found at www.shadowpool.com
This game will be the closest to perfection (according to my definition) that I have ever seen. I hope it comes through for me, and for all of us.

The Psychologist says the cup is your mother. The Punk Kid also says the cup is your mother. The Cricket Player says his cup is definately full. Everyone knows that Pamela Andersons cups are full. The Defendant says it was like that when he found it. Me, I just ask the waitress for a refill.

The perfect mmorpg would be one that actually requires "role playing", and I guess after trying several trials of SWG, SoR, WoW and EQ2 that is why I'm not currently playing an mmorpg except for text based right now. BTW, I'm not saying they are bad mmorpgs, but they are just not for me.
The other thing would be that the mmorpg still not in beta when it is released like so many in the past year have. That is one reason I am not playing SoR or EQ2. A game needs to be free of major issues when released so that game play doesn't have to be sacrificed or diminished until several patches later. This goes for lag and server issues as well. If I am going to pay xx amount of $$$ on the game and then xx amount of $$$ per month, I want a finished product.
I am pretty versatile since I like both sci-fi and fantasy so the style or genre of the mmorpg is not a big deal to me. I do think that PvP should be part of the game. It just makes since to have PvP.
I doubt there will ever be a perfect mmorpg for everyone as we are all diverse in what we like and dislike.
