This is how Warhammer had to look - with dinamic content and all.

Well, at least one game got it right. If it is - we will see :)

well as many have mentioned there are always the haters and i pity the fools because they are the ones that will miss out, but this games definetly get the goose bumps of approval and have no fear folks once the polish is in place as it is now it cant be rubbed off! you see it's magical permanent polish!!!! it dosnt just dissapear at launch rofl it just keeps getting shinier!!!! less than 24 hours to go! yeah haaaa!

No Skarsha, the haters also play the game, go on the game forums and on the global chat and make our game experience even worse!

I will still try it... im not a hater.. but god, really you all find the combat animation cool and amazing?? really... hitting the air in front of an enemy wich feel the hit once in a while is the next big thing for you??

Vindictus hit detection with Rift world would be amazing. Like i said, i think Tera will change things but meanwhile... i will live with it

    (sorry for my bad english)

lol, isnt' that what they call arcane mages in WoW..........frost nova, blink, invisibility.

.......not to mention almost any mmo that has an assassin class......

Looking nice. There is anyways nothing interesting going on in MMO world accept for Cata so this will be perfect MMO to fill the gap till GW2 and SWTOR.

I better not get too attached to it though ;p

Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Trion loves to throw around the buzz words. Next-gen, HD, dynamic, etc...

I agree the animations look cheeeeesy and mis-spaced. It is a beta and they have plenty of time to fix that.

I think it'll definitely be a step forward and this "dynamic" content will be picked up and polished by a game that comes out after Rift.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

I would love more viscereal combat but if Rift delivers all the content they are promising I can overlook a standard combat system in exchange for the class system, the rifts, footholds, invasions and everything else.

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

I really dont understand so few replies to a MMO people are asking for a long time ,

So sandbox players got there sandbox elements in place cause of rifts , go out and find them .

Crafting and other  stuff people asked for .

PvP and everything they could scan from mmorpg and other forums .

And suddenly the hype level is so low ?

Man Tirion has guts , i wish i was still interested in fantasy , but heck i will buy a box copy cause they have guts .

3rd decemeber there beta test , (7th is cataclysme) there video to hype people up .

And suddenly the silence ? whats wrong with these forums ?

All back to cataclysme already ?

Oh wait dont say they have all the sensible people from mmorpg in beta already XD

Seriously?  You're comparing a "teleporting archer" to an arcane mage from WoW?  Hello, planet Earth?

WoW doesnt hold a candle to the amount of flexibility this class system offers.  Im tired of hearing the "OMG this class system is just like WoW" line because it couldnt be further from WoW.   32 skill trees to choose from, 8 per calling, mix and match souls from your calling any way you want.   What does WoW offer?  Locked skill trees until you spend 31 talent points and extremely limited talent flexibility that makes me question why they even bother with having a talent tree in the first place.

Rifts open up and NPC bad guys spawn... So thats different from the games where they just literally appear out of thin air... Alright. I can accept that. Thats not really ground shattering, but its better than suddenly appearing, sure.

Logging out to get lunch in a peaceful town, coming back to a town under siege by an army of bad guys? Thats not very cool... thats a pain in the ass, actually. Log In. BEING ATTACKED, OMG YOU'VE BEEN MOBBED.

    I don't get it.

But I'm glad others are excited. It'll be like Aion for me, or FF(whatever) that just came out. I can see it won't be fun and I won't play it.

Well that's dynamic though and that is what it seems a lot of MMO players want. heck I would love a game that would do that to a point where all but one town or safe zone was overtaken and players had to slowly retake the entire map. it would be awesome.

Don't bother with him. He complains about every MMO out there. It's his "thing", just put him on ignore and enjoy your day.

Don't bother with him. He puts people on ignore because their opinion is different from his own and his own is the only opinion that should be allowed to exist.

    Beyond that.

I don't complain about Guild Wars 2, or Vindictus, or Age of Conan. The only MMO that I do normally complain about on a regular basis is SWTOR. Because I'm a fan of Star Wars and that isn't Star Wars at all.

I find Rift to be a compelling conundrum, infact. Because _I_ don't see why people are excited about it. All I see is another game soon to be disappointing all the people who ARE excited about it.

Thats what I see. Thats my right to see it and speak of it.

Well........the thing about that is....like or dislike of art is an opinion. I could hate a world renowned masterpiece doesn't mean it is bad art.

this is a common misconception. Animation is not a matter of taste in the first - it has to work. And: Art can be judged by objective criteria. Style? No. Its a matter of taste. Artworks, Artdirection, Graphics? Yes. thats a craft.

And if you hate a world renowed masterpiece, chances are high you have no clue and/or art-education (not ment harsh). People believe art is something mystical - its not.

I think Tera will change that with its new combat mechanism

Tera will be an even bigger failure in the western market then AION is.  Its combat looks like some 2D side scrolling monstrosity if Mega Man and Street Fighter had a baby.  Asian style action combat looks silly in a MMO, always has and always will, its the reason why there is no such thing as a successful Asian style MMO in the US.  Give me WoW/EQ/VG style combat any day of the week and im happy.

Thanks for your armchair predictions. I think TERA looks interesting, as it offers a non-target combat system which is always different, as well as other things. I think the reason why there has been no huge successful Asian MMO yet is the fact that most are F2P and Aion was the first of its kind to bring the two together. Only time will tell how well TERA does this.

I want a gorilla *raises hand*.  Based on the reading I've done, the podcasts I've listened to, the information at my disposable to read and think about, this game, I anticipate it will have purposeful, meaningful, Massively-Multiplayer, community-influenced, cooperative and competitive, on-going dynamic, player-centric/pvp game-play that is simultaneously interlaced with pve influence or be worldly or factionally meaningful that transcends what I experienced in WoW, WAR, Aion or GW1.  2 factions isn't my favorite feature, but we'll see how that, combine with an always dynamic world works out.

Another thing is that the emphasis of pvevp game-play does not seem isolated to battlegrounds, a re-run event while running through the same area, redundant PQ's or scenarios, but perhaps really pushes that envelope of game-play design, mechanics, breadth and depth, and balance of pvevp, while being more about massively-multiplayer community involvement, rather than relying more on a heavily instanced 10 v 10 platform game-play.

GW1 and 2 will always be a favorite casual pick-up game of mine, always, but though I've been burnt in the past on anticipation, Rift seems like it "is" offering more, and I'll take Trion up on their 'completed' end-game launched product and see where it goes.
