I think it should go to Global Agenda. To me its the only game this year that achieved what it set out to do or what was expected of it. Although I suppose the same could be said about LegoU but there so little content here for anyone above a childs age. Sure GA doesnt have much content when compared to mmos either but its a shooter so it inhereanly has replay value. The other games are just failed expectations and false hopes.
my vote goes to Global Agenda... it's not as massive (at the moment) as the other games in the list but it's the only game that keeps me coming back for some quick shooter action PLUS HiRez R0X0RZ! Little by little, the game is growing. It's also the only game, IMHO, that gives the best bang for your buck now that it is F2P. I'll even play it before and after raiding or doing some other stuff in another mmo.
Thank you SO much for the None of the Above option! Sad to say, but not one of those games even remotely impressed me this year, hence why I had to vote none of the above.
Vindictus is only playable in USA/CANADA so don't call it "Game of the year", call it in the case it's winning "Game of the year in North America".
Yup fuck Vindictus and its discriminating ways.
Indeed. In my opinion it's a big mistake nominating Vindictus since it's a "global" competition, on the other hand disable voting for not-north american people and again, rename awards to "best of..." NorthAmerica
I tried couple of those and the most fun is definitely Perpetuum. Vindictus gets boring fast, Mortal Online is just another boring MMO. Final Fantasy XIV - don't get me started on that piece of gobble, Global Agend - not new and quite boring too. Star Trek Online is pretty old game - I played it had my fun in it but its long gone even though I still play episodes from time to time. Perpetuum is really new and deserves the sand box fan attention. Mech Warrior meets Eve Online. Interesting concept and fun game for people who like to multitask with 2-3 accounts in a sand box environment.
I wouldnt play it myself.. but perhaps Lego Universe is the only one there that really could be called the best.. out of those listed (and what a terrible list btw!) just got the PCGamer magazine today, wow.. FFXIV.. rated 30.. well can't say it didnt earn such a poor scoring but.. what happened to all the 'good' ? games, well personally im really hoping that next year will at least bring us something, and while im not holding my breath on SW:TOR (it may get delayed again... or something.. either way.. who cares ¿) and only Rifts looks anything like a game i'd be interested in.. at the moment all i see is WoW and Eve online, taking up my playing time... oh yeah.. and next year.. Champions is going F2P... .. so maybe STO will be following shortly after.. as looks like Cryptic are giving up on the P2P market (given the amount of stick they've gotten though.. im not too surprised) so.. heres to 2011 and hopefully a few games that are fun and exciting to play, and not, craptastically bad etc.. sheesh!
That list really is a sad testament to the state of affairs of MMO gaming, kinda reminds me of when AoC was winning awards for being innovative while a mass exodus of the subscriber base was going on.

You can tell sad state of 2010 when MMORPG.COM has to add FFXIV,MO and STO to the list. Lets be honest, if there were some more quality releases in 2010, these three games won't be even mentioned. But now they need to fill up the nomination list and they don't have much choice in this matter.lol
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
Voted none of the above. Waiting for Biggest disappointment so I can vote for Star Trek Online.
OMG! I am so behind that idea... Seriously. I couldn't vote because the only one of these that I've played is STO. I was going to try Vindictus, but my class/study schedule has prevented me. And now I have Jury Duty for the rest of December! *breaks down in tears...
donot vote for Vindictus, cause they block non-US IP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They black Non-US IP because Vindictus is for US players, duh? Vindictus for EU is almost out and Vindictus for Easterners is called Mabinogi Heroes. You not being able to play on a specific server is a retarded reason to ask everyone not to vote for it. That's not up to them. There's frequently agreements made that publishers will not publish the same game in the same territory, and IP blocks get forced upon them. That's just business.
I voted "None of the Above". Vindictus is a fun game, but nothing about it should let it qualify as an MMORPG. You don't play with massive amounts of people, you play with a couple, in instances of a dungeon that change little if at all, over and over. Some of the higher tier bosses allow for groups of 12 or more, but that's not a typical map. It has all the same problems people bitched about the original Guild Wars having (instanced zones, no open world, etc) the only difference is it's prettier and newer. If people refused to call Guild Wars an MMO, Vindictus could hardly be called one either.
The rest of those options are failures on levels that don't even need to be repeated here, with the exception of Global Agenda. That could also be a failure, but I know nothing about it so I can't honestly speak of its success or entertainment value.
Honestly this list is really sad. That FF14, MO and STO are on this list just show what a horrible MMO year 2010 was to suffer through.

I just want to know one thing. How do you screw up typing "BLOCK" and type "BLACK" The O, and the A are no where NEAR each other on a QWERTY keyboard. They are almost opposite ends of the keyboard from each other. Even if English isnt your first language you will still know the difference between O and A. My advice to you son, is SLOW DOWN.
And this is the worst list in history.
Mortal Online- worst game ever, greatest hype, greatest let down. If there was a Razzy award for games Mortal Online would take them all.
Vindictus- Heh, really, is just a hack and slash, like Diablo, nothing really MMORPG about it.
Perpetuum- Watered down, ground based Eve, heh, in a year it may be great.
Lego U- Well at least it didnt crash on launch, and from what I have seen is pretty stable and fun for the mindless.
Global Agenda- They have the Tribes franchise now.... Never know. Overall not a bad game but not a good game.
Hi, I also added none of the above I am still waiting for an mmorpg to come along that gives you the feeling that you cant stop playing it, When your at work or school the only thing you can think about is that next level or how to score the highest hit point right now it is sad to say that there is not one game out there that does this I think all of the mmorpg makers need to go back to the drawing board and find out what gamers are looking for and what they expect form an mmorpg and build the game from the ground up from a gamers point of view ........

Same opinion here! :P

Voted none of the above because I dont feel any of the listed games are good enough to be awarded (positive) awards.
My gaming blog
None of these games are anything great but i had the most fun playing Global Agenda. So I voted for it. All though i never tried Lego Universe.

LOL at the Mortal Online fanboys making a thread on MO forums to have all of their community vote for MO

Seriously these so called games are utter crap. Thx for the " none of the above " option.
none of the above, it sucks thats what i had to put my vote in for ... hopefully 2011 wont suck so bad... HAH .. >.> ..
PS - All mammals have nipples.
Get over it already.
hate to say it, but none of the above was my choice. I neither purchased, subscirbed nor played any of them. And that is saying a lot.
Regards
None of the above FTW!
IZI MODO?! Ha-ha-ha!

Out of the above Perpetuum has to be the one
perpemtuum to support indie development.
Seeing that list really drives home just how bad of a year it was MMO release -wise.
I voted none of the above because IMO none of those games deserve accolades.
Bad games shouldn't be rewarded IMO.
None of the above here.
Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst!
