returning player name change question

I thought I'd come back to the game for the free 10 day trial and I found all my characters had  a few letters added to the end from a server merge.

 

I looked into it and i found that they offered people who this happened to a name change, and I also found that you can spend 10 bucks to do it.

 

Is there anyway for a returning player to have this done for free or was that a limited time offer in the past?

    Check your inventory. Each character should've gotten an item to use for a free name change.

    I was on Zikel since launch but I quit. Why did they add letters to the end of my names?

    thank you very much, i had a name change ticket.

     

    they merged servers and added the first two letters of the server name t othe end of your character name so they didnt have to check if there were any duplicates

    Ahh I see, hopefully I can get my old name back.
