Game Lag
Has anyone else been experiencing a lot of lag in the game? I reactivated my account a week or so ago to check out the game to see how it is not. But ever since I have come back there is at least 50% of the time where I can hardly play the game due to massive lag spikes. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I usually only get lag in Sanctum, and other towns/outposts where more people gather.
Unfortunately I seem to get mine everywhere, some time the spikes are so bad I’m just hitting buttons at random so that I will not die in a battle. It really does not matter what area I’m in or how populated the area is I still hit massive spikes. At first I was thinking it was a hardware or network connection problem, I checked everything and it is fine. Plus Aion is the only game that I have this problem with. So far I have checked the following:
Bandwidth connection / Speed
Graphics card drivers
Video setting
Lowered the video setting to performance
Defrag my hard drive
Ran check disk
Uninstalled and reinstalled the game
Plus it takes the game about 5 minutes or some to load to the log on screen. It’s just very frustrating lol. I like the game but sometime the playability is no there.
I have the same problem but I recently moved to a slower connection so I'm not sure if its my provider or the game itself, but it lags all the time and spikes from 200-2000 every once in a while.

What is your ping and are you using Leatrix Latency Fix to improve it?
Yeap I ran a test on my internet connection and my ping rate is between 45 to 110MPS. Also this is the only game I play that has this problem
game was ridiculous, i had no lower than 300 ping in that game and up to 2500 a lot. i quite before my first free month was up cause i knew no amount of complaining or anything was going to matter, obviously they haven't fixed it and never will.
done supporting these bs rip off incompetant companies.
Well I didn't have a problem with lag at all when I first played at launch. But I was also on a different server at the time, actually on 2, Meslamtaeda and Azphael (sp?). Anyway, I haven't played since end of '09. Come back this week to check it out, all my characters are moved and now the lag has made the game unplayable for me. I really can't even explore the new changes and features because I can barely move my character. Oh well.
Only time I had issues back when I played was during keep raids, which was more my laptop not keeping up with everything and less to do with lag.

Well I have given it a fair shot again, but with all the lag the game is truly unplayable. Don’t get me wrong I do understand that lag happens in MMO and more players that are logged on will increases the lagging. But in this game I can be in a zone 100% alone and still lag, the best option I have it to keep hitting buttons for skill and attacks and hope I don’t die (I die most of the time). This is the third time I have give this game a try since it lunch and unfortunately it will be my last.

Totaly agree with you mate. Doesn't matter in which country you are in EU....all servers lag. I could never get a lower than 200ms ping at launch(which had 10 times more people) and 3 days ago(free trial for returning players) i tried all remaining EU servers(mostly in empty areas) and could not get a lower ping than 220 ms! ! !
And no it's not my ISP. I get 100-130 ms playing in all US based games and all of my EU online games give me a variable of 60-130 ms. And i play many mmos.It's purely NCSoft' fault. Period.
the few times i'v logged in lately i'v also had some crazy lag spikes. mostly in dungeons but 1 or 2 also wile questing. some of the lag spikes were so bad taht after a 2 minutes of waiting for some sort of response from the server i shut the game down and reloged. it was not a freeze since i could actually walk arround inside the dungeon but no skills would work, npc wouldnt aggro, team mates were stuck, so it was definately just lag. i'v never had such lag in Aion before so it's either something in their latest patches or just too many people per server.
I think the lag has always been an issue, though as all issues, some never experienced it at all. For me, I always averaged 500 ping, and the times it hit 300 were good times. The only person that didn't experience it in our legion was our cleric who played through a proxy instead. I think his average was 150 (somewhere around that range).
Chasing twinked glad when I had the faster running speed, hopping on top of their head for a minute as they go about 1 shotting lower levels and ignoring me, all the while repeatedly hearing "That target is too far away," was a total blast, lemme tell you =P

I would also like to add another reason I’m dropping this game. I don’t know about the rest of you but I have a hard time getting the games Logon GUI to display half the time or it has a really slow reaction time.
