There are so many herb and mineral nodes now its crazy. If you do equal parts questing and crafting, they level up fine together. Common sense.

Take a little extra time to level your crafts.. its nothing new.

The problem is related to the fact that Blizzard wants to adresses a wide range of playing styles.

You now gain experience by killing mobs, doing quests, doing dungeon crawling, doing BG's/PvP, gathering professions, doing daily secondary professions (cooking - fishing).

All these activities are awarded with experience and to top it all: you have on/off experience buttons in SW and Ogrim.

So the blue above is correct: you have to choose which fun part you want to go for. If you want it all at the same time, there's only one solution: shut down the experience for the levels/zones/options you want to go for.

Hint: Instead of an on/off NPC mechanism in the capitols, Blizzard should install an XP glider on each avatar.

The themepark is so diverse these days, players are called upon to use sandbox elements (experience controls) to address their needs.

    Sounds as fun for everyone.

I'm going to disagree.  If you aren't leveling up your professions while questing, you are doing something wrong.  I am taking a pally with herb/inscription and the amount of herb nodes that are availabe is just crazy.   I don't have mining, but I remember doing a cave in NE Felwood that had like 10 nodes of Mithril in it.   I actually thought they were decorations until I moused over them.

Yes, you can level very fast, but there are so many nodes all over the place you don't even have to go out of your way to find them.  They were always popping up while I was questing.

Skinning may be a slightly diferent story, but in reality,  all you have to do is kill an extra few mobs while questing.  To 'keep' up with leveling skinning you ONLY have to get 5 skill ups per level.  I find it hard to believe you can't do that unless you are doing nothing but dungeons and picking the wrong ones.
