LF p2p or f2p game with pvp/pve

legshotlegshot Member Posts: 59

Tried many games so far since quitting WoW months ago and just can't get into any game, i do for first month then end up getting bored or not wanting to grind rep ect so far the games i've tried (with a small description why i stopped)

WoW - got bored, had my fun and stopped due to pvp being boring, unbalanced and pve just well, completing it all

AION - stopped once i found out the grind for gear is just like WoW, either pvp in an unbalanced way or, grind instances, don't get me wrong the fort scale pvp is fun as hell just didn't have the patients anymore to spend weeks grinding the gear and then left with nothing to do.

age of conan -  i hit 80, was all hyped, then went and did pvp, either premades rape you and you lose or grind rep for starter gear and do dungeons, again, didn't want to grind the gear find out theres nothing left in the game, pvp was fun, loved it, Battle grounds or world pvp was awesome.

EVE - awesome game great community, everything about it is awesome, i can log in kill stuff make some gp log off, only downside, the combat was boring as hell, i admit i never did any huge scale pvp, which i;m sure gets your heart pounding but still, target turn it all on and wait, wasn't really fun for me.

darkfall - huge skill system loved it knowing there was more to the game than grind gear (even though gear was easy to come by) but knowing i could sit back grind some wood craft some shit or kill something was good, felt like i might of finally found the game but, theres something there i can't put my finger on just doesn't make me log in, i've currently got game time and log in maybe once a day, play for 10mins and log off.

ryzom - played for around 5-6 days and got bored, the game itself seemed good but just really didn't feel like there was much to do in it and considering i need strong pvp in a game, didn't feel like a game for me.

i'll be honest i'm not sure what game i'm looking for, i really want something with strong PVP though and PVE either strong side of the game or just a tad, just need something other than grind gear in the game, it gets old fast and it drains me now after doing it on WoW.

i recently looked into star wars galaxy and maybe even star wars old republic once thats released but, i just need some reviews from people who play it now or recently stopped. How is the game now such as pvp? is there pve in it and how is that? is the game population big enough to make it not feel like it's dead?

if anyone has ANY other games to suggest i'd be more than happy to try, besides fallenearth, i went to try that and watched a video, was bored just watching it :P if you could write a small review of the game such as how it is now ect if you suggest a game, would be greatfull as i'd prefer someone who is currently playing the game to say how it is right now over some review written years ago (for any game).

Thanks for reading, i tried to write details to what i've tried didn't think it would turn out this big of a read.

I don't see Warhammer on your list and especially if you like PvP this game has some of the most fun and easily accessible WoW style pvp around.  Don't believe the naysayers that state no one plays this game any more as it's simply not true.  If you're in the US roll on the Badlands server.  Of course there is an endless free trial with this game so it's definitely worth checking out.

Id sooner recommend WAR than SWG (if we're talking about dying games), but thats simply personal opinion.

First i'd like to commend you, it seems you actually give games a fair shake, I think you have more patience than you give yourself credit for. Ive played all the ones you've mentioned, some longer/some not so much...I'd maybe recommend giving WAR a chance, I played it at the start. I'm unsure of the population these days, but I did enjoy the PVP for sure.

Otherwise the only games I can recommend are purely PVE or PVP (Such as Guild Wars for PVP, or Vanguard/LOTRO for PVE).

You're in a similar situation to myself, if there was one I could recommend I would be playing it. I will say this, in the limited time I played WAR (30 levels), I enjoyed it much more than I did Aion (which felt incredibly tedious and...something ive done a million times before).

After my exams (in 2 days), i'll be in the same boat as yourself, looking for another game. Though I may join one of these "explorer" type guilds going to play Vanguard and take their time with it, i'm getting older and my girlfriend/friends get in the way of being "hardcore" ;)

yea it does suck = i used to have insane patients back in the day of runescape, could log in play 10-15 hours and do the same the next day, then went to WoW same thing but with PVE and some PVP, now after draining myself of gear grinding and not much left to do in WoW or runescape, just don't want to get into agame and find out the only real things to do is grind gear once that's done theres nothing so, i dunno i just leave the game after the first month it sucks haha:P

What I get from your post is that basically you can't be bothered to put any major effort in to either find large scale pvp or to get the gear required.  You'll be far better off playing things like COD online or any other FPS you like the look of. You'll get your online experience without having to grind for gear and without having to look for pvp. MMO's just don't work for all!

no it's not that at all, i have no problem grinding in games, but in 999.9999% of games where you grind gear, that is the content, once thats done and you sit therein bestest epics it's game over, i don't want to get into a game and find out the only real content is endless PVe raid bosses, i've done that before and it drains me now, just want a game that has more to offer than endlessly grind for gear then nothing left to do.

Check out my Heroes of Three Kingdoms review in my sig.. It offers good PvE, good crafting, and huge pvp battles (sorta like fort raids in AION but on more massive scale and being able to build towers/cannonpults/ect.)

very very nice reviews gave me everything i'd need to know besides one tiny thing :P the gear itself, is that just considerd gear or is there pvp gear and pve gear? also rare materials you spoke about for crafting end game gear, that's only from cash shop (market if someone buys it then puts it up)?

another thing is how many servers are there and which would you recommend ?:P thanks for the  awesome reply
