The next event is titled Enter the Rift and sounds like you can play either faction. Has any word been said about whether PvP will be enabled in either the open world or even just Warfronts?

No but I bet they will be with release coming closer and the last 2 events where smooth, we did the low level stuff on both sides I would think we would be seeing PVP.
