One thing I will say about Trion is there ability to listen and respond to their community, and the feedback coming in from the two recent events and make changes based on that. I have seen many companies who fail so terribly at this and its a breath of fresh air in that respect alone.

Whether Rift floats your boat or not I really couldn't care less, but I do give props to the Dev team, GM's and Community Managers at Trion.

Sigh.. On a first view an intelligent, soft statement. Kind of irrelevant to main subject and patronizing, but cheering!

"Whether Rift floats your boat or not I really couldn't care less" if so, why do you bother to post anything? Or you think, it is important to us to know what floats your boat?

"My game is better than your game irrelevancy..."- I was ready to agree with you on this one. But, then I looked at it from the point of reason. Would we even have forums if we didn't have our game preferences and attachments? Nothing wrong in being emotional. Wrong to be unfair! Or, may be, indifferent?!

What I am trying to say is: I am not ashamed of openly expressing my well grounded (I have played betas) expectation about the game. I do not have grandpa attitude. To share excitement of something - isn't it in our nature? In your nature? In human nature?

And we all (beta testers) give props to the Dev team, GM's and Community Managers at Trion.

Tera is the one with that badger looking character...rift is the one with the..well, same ol' characters.

Not promoting or demoting either, just thought it was funny.

The game was Rift: Planes of Telara.

Who do they have for writers?

IMO the voices & writing could have been better.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Because I dont have to care whether you like it or not to post my appreciation of the devs etc. The two points are not connected. I also stated no particular preference for either game, and am watching the development of both with equal vigilance and therefore what floats my boat does not even come into it.

Then take it to an applicable thread, this is not a Tera vs Rift thread, but a preview of the opening cinematics, and the changes made after feedback on the voice acting. My post was relevant as an observation of the Devs reaction to this. Though I could not resist to have a dig at the previous arguments amoung some posters, my main point was on topic.

I am not saying you should be ashamed of anything you feel strongly about. The Tera vs Rift thing is off topic however, and in the context of the OP, irrelevant.

You are keeping saying Tera vs Rift, Tera vs Rift...like it was the subject of my post. Read it again. I was talking about cinematic videos voice over. And "Though I could not resist to have a dig at the previous arguments among some posters, my main point was on topic.":)

You should read my first post again.

I did, and as my first post was not in direct response to your first post (else I would have quoted it) I don't see your point.

My second post was however in direct response to yours as you took it upon yourself to single me out. The green text was in relation to your direct response to my post, you first post was not even in consideration. Even Stevens I'd say.

My first post was not in anyway directed at your post, again or I would have quoted it, but at the general Rift vs Tera derailment of a completely different subject. Understand? It was you who chose to think I was attacking you, when I was not. You were jumping at shadows and seeing threats where there were none and attacked. I simply responded to your attack in the green text as you were putting words into my mouth to highnote yourself. Sorry.

Voice is good, the game is good too between. Ye its generic overall, but it wasn't aiming for anything else, its about Rifting guys, you know like the name of the game "RIFT"... So they definitly got the bull eyes for me, thats what they were aiming for and already got it.

And ye i'm not very much for generic stuff, but sometime you better aim low to get higher, rather than aim high to crush like a peice of shit.

The game is going to be amazing!  I cannot wait till it is released live :)

It looks interesting. Not really a fan of the voice-over for the Guardian video. The hyper-realism of the videos does not work for me either but I was already looking forward to trying the game anyway.

I love how everyone thinks a new MMO has to "break the mold" , but seriously just because its a similar setting to other MMOs doesn't mean its bad. Honestly I'm waiting for someone to make one thats just right. I have fun playing them all, and if one is better then the last maybe I'll play it longer. Or, oh man, if they made it perfect maybe I could stop hoping around. Its an addiction I need to just settle I think.

Rift is an awesome fantasy MMO with alot of that familiar feeling fans of the genre have grown to know and love. They have a few new mechanics to show off, and its mixed in to an already tried and tested setup. Just have fun wit it. If you don't like the genre don't play it.

I will say this to everyone singing Tera's praises. Its a Korean MMO they might be BlueHole, but their roots are in NCsoft, and that company has made a few awesome games that they entirely ignored for the most part and let little problems ruin them. I'll probably look into to as I like PvP MMOs more then the average western setup, but don't put alot of hope into it. MMOs from that part of the world have a horrible track record.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, the voice acting wasn't great, but it won't make or break the game.
