Im finally playing EQ2.

After waiting so long im finnally playing eq2, and loving it. Im playing on very high with setting maxed except bloom, flora, and shadows. Im running a 6800 GT and the game is running perfect, no lag at all. Only lag I get is in Qeynos, which is from my slow ISP. The graphics are amazing, everything in the game is so detailed, best Ive ever seen in a game (havent played HL2 though). These are my specs.
AMD 64 3000+ S939
Gigabyte 6800 GT 256mb
1024 3200 ram
200GB Sata 7200 RPM HD
MSI Neo2 Platinum S939
Im lvl 9 Barbarian Fighter in Qeynos, Crushbone server. Very fun game, and alot to do. I have 15 quests in my log and I have only been in 1/3 of Qeynos, I Have alot of quests to do for a long time 
The combat is pretty much the same as most games but I do like how fast paced it is, and most mobs spawn fast. I have only had to rest a couple times... Im not crafting at all, so I dont know how that is.
The game has done such a good job with immersion and the role playing aspect. The Qeynos Citizinship quest was pretty cool, although a little easy, but they set it up very nicely. Alot of stuff in the game reminds me of EQI, but better.
So far im loving this game, im trying to find this stupid NPC to start my warrior quest. Its nice starting the game with 50% more xp

I genuinely wish you the very best of luck with EQ2. Since you've given the game such a huge build up, be sure and keep us informed of your progress. I'm very eager to see what you think of it in, say, three months from now.
Ok I will. Im really liking it so far, it seems the more I play the more I like the game. I have alot of goals, from armor, to quests, to leveling, to my own home and much more. I have completed 39 quests and im lvl 12 barbarian warrior. The quests are fun and they are more complex then other games, not all of them, but some. Some are just to plain go kill this many mobs, and come back, but some are actually fun. To get my warrior quest I had to talk to NPC's, then go into an arena to prove my strength by killing several mobs.
The only thing I dislike about the game is zoning, its annoying when you are questing. Its not too bad when you are doing stuff away from town, but when you are in town it is annoying. Other then that I have found no problems. There definately is a grind, but its kinda fun. Especially with a group. My favorite type of battle is group mobs, when you attack one of the mobs, they all attack the group. Its very fast paced combat and takes actual skill, its not hard, but you do need to pay attention. As a warrior its very fun tanking, they have perfected how a warrior should be. Im using duel slashing weapons so I am hitting fast and alot of damage.
I like how some things remind me of EQI, like the sewers, and Qeynos of course. It brings back some old memories lol. Qeynos is set up perfectly, it really makes you feel that you are in a good city, from how the guards talk, and the surroundings. I havent seen Freeport so I dont know about that city.

Geez, 12 levels in one day. That a boy 921. Groups get cooler as you reach a little higher level. My character resides in Freeport so the mobs are a bit differen't, but I'm at 20 and the mobs are getting cool. Have you decided what your going to be when you get to 20? Again, glad to hear your enjoying yourself! Welcome to the club.
Ah forgot the xp acceleration. Lucky bastard, you got to fly through those early levels!
Im going to be a berserker at lvl 20. Seems to be perfect for me, fast with duels, good damage, alot of HP and decent defense. Ya the 50% xp thing is really nice lol. But the last 5 quests I have done I didnt get my reward for them, I dont know why. I will send a CSR ticket in the morning, but I dont feel like doing that right now.
I keep logging out of EQ2 and trying to go to bed, but it keep pulling me back and I log in again lol. Its almost 4 in the morning

Im lvl 13 now. I found out why I couldnt get my quest items, it was because I didnt pick a selection between gnolls or orcs lol. So once I anwsered that , it gave me all my stuff. I went to Black Burrow, that place is awesome, its very similar to EQL. Really good xp and fun combat.

You are right to be sceptical. Although your video card is fine and u JUST meet the RAM requirments, EQ2 requires at least a Pentium 4 1 GHz Processor, so you'll have to upgrade that.

Now that I have played, I do not agree with ALOT of the complaints people have here. They seem to leave out all the details that make EQ2 a great game. All the can do is critisize the game when there is way more stuff to complement. I would say 95% or the game I love and 5% I dislike.

I think that's just human nature though. The bad things in life are the things that people remember the longest, so I guess it's only natural people just harp on the negative aspects. Or maybe that's just men, like my wife tries to tell me all the time.
I cant play the game again till Thursday since Im at another house with a crappy computer
The game is sooo fun, its been hard for me to log off

My goodness people...i actually managed to run the game on my 800mhz comp and it works really well...
The game is freakin awesome

Im lvl 16 now and I have been fighting in Firemyst. It is a instanced zone that you can only go to if one person in the group has the quest. Its really cool inside and great XP, I learned how to make HO's, and that is racking up the damage output in our group. Very nice zone and it was set up very nice, since its instanced we were the only group there. After that I fought scarecrows. One thing I like about EQ2 is how fast paced it has been, I was the only melee and the rest were priests and mages. We NEVER had to rest, we could take them so fast even though they conned yellow to us. Herioc Oppurtinies are very fun and it adds some challange/fun into the battle. So far EQ2 is my favorite game.

HEY FIREMAGIC! Guess what, its been three months, and im still playing it. Lvl 30 berserker on Crushbone named Findical. Looks like the game is actually pretty damn fun, the more I play the more I like it. SoE is doing an excellent job with the game, maybe you should play it again Firemagic
