When did PerfectWorld Start Blocking Regions?

I think the last time I played a PW game was when HOTK came out. I skipped jade dynasty and for the most part even PW. But after hearing about Forsaken World, or should I say - believing the 'artificial hype' surrounding it, I signed up my old account for the beta, entered my key and voila - just a few days ago, I was accepted.

Wow. I managed to get in game ONCE! played for three to four hours and afterwards, I received an e-mail saying my account had been suspended because of the region im in or due to the fact I'm using an open proxy. 

It seems that SEA (Southeast Asia) has been blocked from all of PW's games...

 

These countries CAN NOT play games from Perfect World Entertainment.

China

Hong Kong

Macau

South Korea

Taiwan

Vietnam

Unfortunately, we are unable to allow new registrations from these region.

We are obligated to block regions which have their own localization of Perfect World, Ether Saga, Jade Dynasty, or Battle of the Immortals. Some regions are also blocked for administrative reasons. The same regions are blocked for all of our games.

 

 

I guess it's a great excuse to quit! I've already stopped paying for MMOs, PW just happened to produce the best F2P games on the market.  Thanks PW. you've just helped me refocus my life.
