Rift

graphics

when you log in you get is this warhammer online

questing

if you like handhold just like world of warcraft  then this is wounderful for you

rift's

beta 1 they where far to easy  spawn and mobs dead

beta 2 the made them vary had and a blast needing lot's of people to kill some of them but then they turned to back to cake walk after people crying there to hard.

there is no UI ATM for people in the area of rift's making it vary hard to get people alive on a healer forceing us to click click click on people looking.

Grouping

well they made it where you get more EXP if group but the mobs are so easy there still no point and if you go for higher mobs for EXP the scaleing is horrable lvl 11 killing lvl 13 mobs with a lvl 12 player  I got 140 exp we kill lvl 15 mobs we got 150 exp.

it is a instance grouping game only

PVP

will be only BG PVP unless of PVP server but still hear say as it is not ingame yet.

crafting

basic  crap go mine brake down magic stuff and click make it button

Starter area's

guarden starter area   is basicly fully discovered on the path in a forest and look like same forest crap

defient starter area   It beats guarden's ass in every way from look's feel going of path.

Combat

is click spell 1 now 2 now 3  over and over on single target UI

UI

the basic UI  from world of warcraft but the got it right so it works

soul system

basicly  pick 3 class's  and spend only 50 point's for  3 tress

class's

well same type of spells for every class for that  arc type  just change the dmg + or - 10 dmg and diffrent dmg type

the my reveiw after 2 beta's  I will not be getting the game myself besides I have gave up on MMORPG as a whole starting 2 days ago after 12+ years.

PS.    as for the WoW state meet's  the boot realy dose fit for what I said coming for a WoW basher for year's.

Well, I don't think everyone will feel the same about Rift as you do, but that you acknowledged and faced the facts and made a decision is certainly admirable.

Just like with other types of burnout, when you notice and acknowledge that you're burnt or burnt out on MMORPG's, it's a good thing to step back and away from it, do other stuff that you find more enjoyable, taking a breather from MMO's and then after half a year to a year or so look back again to see if anything has changed in your stance and feeling towards them.

Sometimes it has, and sometimes you have to conclude for yourself that MMO's just don't entice you anymore as they used to do, and that there are other hobbies and interests that give far more satisfaction.

OP, it's early yet. Many have concerns, but really the depth and breadth of class choice is much more than pick 3 and distribute.  It's pick among 6?  I cant remember the number that follows your first soul, and then distribute 51 points, that you can save for the next soul, or re-balance through an in-game gold offer to your class master.

As for PvP.  I expect it to be more meaningful than WoW or WAR, and perhaps more dynamic, and I hope a blend of open-world with the same meaning and purpose, though I havent tested it yet.

But when you look at early-on polls done at the Rift site, having almost 800 respondents wanting  a mix of pve and pvp, almost split in half for those that prefer a PvE vs those that prefer a PvP-based server, is pretty telling.  http://forums.riftgame.com/showthread.php?4850-What-type-of-server-will-you-play-on/page18

Tells me that Trion would be stupid to ignore PvP and be just as ignorant to have a non-sensical PvP server.  Because my sense when talking to anyone about PvP, it inevitably comes down to wanting it, for those that do, but with tangible and recognization game-play value, meaning and purpose, as opposed to just having it as a generic third-person-shooter.  But thats been my experience.
