Plan to play so plan to pre-order. Its all about the budget afterall. I want entertainment it gets tossed into the budget, when the funds are available purchase. Usually its put aside on the budget in advance and that usually indicates a pre-order. CE, well thats all depending on the additional cost verses the advantage of the CE over a regular one.
What?!?! You all dont do this too? Seriously? I thought everyone thought through thier purchases and decided what was the best action to take before throwing money around these days. Yeah, its a game I know, but its still $$$$$ out of my pocket in the end isn't it? And fun never comes free anymore, even a walk in the park costs gas $$ in the car and $$ for the food and drink during your day in the shade.

Don't worry you are not alone but this is one time i am going to make exception. RIFT CE is hands down the best CE for MMORPGS so far. It is loaded and worth every penny in my opinion.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

I was in beta and will not buy Rift.I want depth, complexity and an expansive world.Rift has none of this. Vanguard in my opinion does.Thats why I continue to play it.Rift for me is a deep disappointment.
rift is actually (as per beta 3) one the most challenging (not in the time sink sense) MMOs I have ever seen. Easily as challenging as VG ever was in terms of actual play.
It might not have the expansive world, like VG or whatever, but very few MMOs have and what they have is enough for launch and certainly enough to have fun in.
You wanted a new VG, fine, but Trion never promised VG, it promised Rift, and it delivered.
At this point it's only your own baseless expectations and personal demands, for a expansive sandbox heavy game, that are leaving you dissapointed. Rift never presented itself as such.
it is a fine traditional MMO with some lovely touches, fine implementation, and powerful technology behind it, and for that reason i will be pre ordering. It has a solid future in front of it, one that will see it grow and mature beautifully imo.I am really enjoying the game as of B3.
I'm with you. This game rocks. I will take a break to play GW2 when it comes out but Ill be playing rift for a very long time.
I am enjoying the betas so far and have little game complaints the graphics are very nice. Could use some better detailing on the gear but looks great. Come on i loved Vanguard beta but when it went live it sucked ass. Vanguard got fixed and played good but it never felt the way rift currently feels atleast not to me it didnt feel complete or atleast not ready to play Rift on the other hand feels ready now even though it is only in BETA 3 or just finished it any way. My only complaint that i can actually say is i have 4 lvl 20s and i want them to be high levels lol. If you are not enjoying rift you are not playing it right lol have fun with it in beta dont force yourself to be an elitist and remember it is beta find bugs/exploints and other issues then report them dont keep them to yourself or they wont get fixed and the game will suck lol. The game is well polished for only being in beta the Alpha testers did great and heck the game is not even optimized yet. Rift has so much going on hell we only have like 1 Zone and 1 dungeon unlocked for us in beta so far the rest you can only see mobs and rifts but you can not cross certain areas so i dont understand why people complain about not enough content its only beta 3 and we dont have access to the stuff the Alpha testers are testing in the mean time. I am sure more content will be in Beta 4 and so on so hold your horses and do what you were told and Beta Test!!!
Needless to say I'll be pre-ordering 2 copies (wife is hooked).
It's funny to see certain folks who not only a week or so ago just blasting this game left and right to now exclaim they have already pre-ordered. Too funny.

odd perspective you have. I only tried the beta because of how badly people were complaining after playing the beta in this forum. They've likely aired their complaints and moved on for the most part.
I played all of five minutes. The performance was so bad on my gtx260 and for no reason at all my mouse cut out randomly, so that was enough for me. From what little I played it was WAR with some WoW revisions, a dated graphics engine, poor art direction, and very lackluster production and presentation values. I'll likely give it a try again when I've got more time and when they get some issues worked out.

You played for 5 minutes and somehow had time to see all the game has to offer as far as content and features, see the graphics at full max settings even though you were having problems, and the art direction throughout the entire game.
If you played at all the only thing you saw was the very beginning tutorial area and chose your first class. I don't see how this somehow gives you insight into the entire game. I'm definitely not a huge fan of Rift, I won't be playing it on release; but your post is just absurd.
No, the only thing you did was read other people's complaints and adopted their opinions to your own before you even tried the game (if you tried it).
That's odd. Most people are having issues currently with ATI cards. I really hope you reported this in on the official beta forums so Trion can work on fixing whatever the issue may be that you are experiencing.

Odd sense of realism you have. I've been playing significantly longer than "5 minutes" and the game runs smooth as silk on my machine (which based on your listed videocard my machine is a leap or three behind yours) and likewise on my wife's machine (and her machine is a step or two behind mine - her videocard is below the minimum required and she still gets 20+ FPS and no lag.
As far as I'm concerned they don't need to make any major changes in the interest of performance. With respect to graphics, art direction and P&P values, well, not everyone sees the same in a given piece of art. By that alone it proves noone one is right or wrong, better or worse. Just different.
You probably need to either change where you live or get a better internet service provider cause this game runs fine. THat or check to make sure you have updated drivers for your card and all your peripherals. If what you claim were the universal truth, then everyone would be experiencing it.
Everyone isn't so the issue is on your end (or points inbetween), not Trions.

Dameonk I personally know of 3 guys that have gtx260s and haven't had an issue running it. They have the latest drivers for the card. It's as you said, some ATI cards are the ones with issues. For the vast majority, I'd guess 90%+, nVidia cards work fine from a step or two below the required on up.

I am 99% sure that I will be purchasing the game BUT... I have learned my lesson about pre-orders! The last game I pre-ordered tried to keep my money for a year (through various delays) and attempted to say there were "No Refunds". Got a chargeback and vowed to never again pre-order an MMORPG... at least not until a few days before release.

I hate pre-ordering cuz the thing you get from pre-order will go to waste no matter what. There will be bugs in game at beginning as usual. I would wait few months after release and see how people comment about it. Then beta it. Then its up to you if you want to buy it or not.
How many times do people need to get burned before they stop putting their hands in the fire? Never pre-order. Ever. If the game is worth the money after it's released, then go snag it.

I typically agree with this unless you have played in the beta events and know what your getting into. I have played it and I know it's nothing like some of the other games that flopped. These guys are working hard and while many will agree it's not exactly a mind blowing innovative game. It takes the best of whats existing builds on that and gives us new content in a good looking game. I may not be asking for much, but with the most recent string of game failures some not even being able to get basic elements like character control to be user friendly... This game simply works has a future and a good team working on it so I'm going to put my money on it.
I have just completed my pre-order direct from Trion of the CE digital
Have been lucky to get in all 3 betas so far without a vip code just a normal lottery code so I know what to expect
I agree with a lot of people it's a lot like WAR.
Found the 2nd beta as a guardian not so much fun (maybe i already had chosen in my mind that defiant was my path)
And as if proof for me was needed that support was good i had an immediate question which i sent off and 3 minutes after sending I got my reply clearing up the confusion.
If this continues then TRION will have no complaints from me
I probably havent felt this calm in 6-years, pre-ordering without concern for potential disappointment, for concern about what the game might not be or be lacking. Yes. I trust I'll feel the same about GW2 and SW:TOR, I hope.

2 pre-orders here, 1 CE most likely.
1 CE for me. Love the game, it rocks and can't wait for it to come out. Played beta 3 and got about 8 hour of sleep in those 4 days lol.

I will be pre-ordering it if I can.. that is if the region lock on Steam goes away...

Lol there is no way I will pre-order rift, I doubt very much that I will ever order this game. The hype does not equal what they tried to push.
No thanks, if I wantted warhammer I would still be playing it.
I preordered the CE. The flash drive will be quire useful to me so it was a no brainer.
Not super crazy about the turtle mount but I don't have to use it is no loss there.
preordered the CE just a few minutes ago, liked what i saw in beta, had fun wich is all i care about.

If I haven't beta tested or tried the trial = no buy. I don't do pre-orders in principle, been let down far too many times to date, MMO's most of all.
Remember, it has to be fun to be a game. Grinding is a bedroom activity, and the point is definitely not to do my wife as fast as possible.

Pre-Ordered. I would have never preordered if I didn't have the opportunity to play in beta. I was impressed.
