All it proves is that there is at least one STO fankid who knows how to skew an online poll by deleting their cookies in order to vote multiple times.

"Amusingly enough, we've noticed that a few thousand voters simply skipped some of the questions..."

hint - it was the SAME PERSON (I think that might be what the author was getting at here).

Wow holly cow batman.   Did you all not see how none of the above almost came in 2nd and 3rd place on almost every poll.

What that tells me is how absolutely horrible MMO's have been this past year.   I mean even turbine free to play barley eacked past the none of the above mark.

All I can say is wow,  set up a bad pole with not to many answers and that is the result you will get.

I'm not surprised the STO won when the questions stacked the deck for them.

I'm surprised that they did not write much about how many of the none of the above kept getting high marks.

Oh well, lol I call shenanigans on that entire article,  how massively expects us to ever believe anything they print ever again is beyond me, I have no respect for them now at all.

They don't want to say that all the MMOs that have released the last 3 years sucked and they don't want to cancel a article they put work in.

ITT: Star Trek Online does well in a vote among Massively users, "MY OWN RESEARCH INDICATES THAT NOBODY LIKES STAR TREK ONLINE!"

Makes me wonder what half of the people in this thread are doing browsing the Star Trek Online forums if they hate the game so much.

LOL look at the competition.  No one even played any of the other games besides FFXIV.  STO is better than FFXIV...grats?  At least the FFXIV devs admit their game sucked and stopped charging people to play it until they can get it worth playing, unlike Cryptic who not only continues to charge full AAA sub rates, but also has an extensive cash shop for their PoS.

The above reply assumes the poll was legit, which I doubt.

Ahhhh.... thanks Massively for an article and poll that made me realize the MMORPG has reached rock bottom for value and and at the same time soaring to new heights in false advertising and paper thin content. I appreciate your work for us all. Yeah TCU!

Seriously...did you see that Blizzard won best MMO studio but then got second in worst MMO studio...how does that happen unless you have trolls voting.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but you're posting in forums where trolls, both for something or against something, multiply like tribbles.

And a great plug to see Tabula Rasa the most missed MMO. Would love to see that come back somehow.

You forgot one award for STo:

    BEST CRAFTING

WTF? You're kidding me, right? No crafting whatsoever in STo...

  • IkedaIkeda Member RarePosts: 2,751

    @Reiz

Um?  I don't particularly care for the game.  I picked it up for like 10 bucks just to try out their new "episodes" now that it's been a  LONG while.  Having said that, all the GOOD equipment is crafted.  And THEN there are like 2-3 lvls of each of the type (from common, to uncommon, to rare).  EVERY SINGLE SLOT had this (both ship and personal slots).  In fact, as a n00b to the game, I singlehandedly made a couple million energy credits just by selling the mats (non-rare mats were roughly 10K, the really rare ones were upwards of a mil or so).

Frankly, I was impressed with the crafting (and the method of levelling your crafting).  If that was the game then it could have been doable.  But everything else in the game was dumb.  Nothing like being a lvl 2-3 flying around, you enter a presumably low lvl encounter to get smeared by lvl 50 klingon carriers because a high level entered and left that encounter before you.

Its obvious that STO fans all flocked to the site and rallied each other on the STO forums to vote for STO everything.

Oh wow, crafting was finally added? When I played it in OB there was totally no crafting in it. At least for once Craptic has kept their word and added something they said to do :p

Winning awards from MMORPG websites is serious business.   =]  Even if that award has nothing to do with your own game.

    Was 2010 really THAT bad?

I didn't forget. STO did not win best crafting. They almost did, but if you look again "None of the above" won.

I'm speechless.  To have STO wins this only proofs that 2010 was an abysimal years for MMO's.

Of course, if people are going to troll a game, they should at least pretend to do so based on facts.

STO does have crafting.  At launch, it was really weak, but they've refined and added to it since then.  I still don't think it's a great system, personally, but there is a crafting system in the game.

I'm glad to see that STO has gotten some good recognition, albeit from a "People's Choice" perspective.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
