Ok friends please help me out. I've been in beta and I truely enjoy this game . However my dilemma is I only choose and or have two MMO's on my HD at any given time. Right now it's LoTRO and AoC.
I actually enjoy both but I refuse to go f2p with LoTRO. So with that said, I guess I'm leaning towards Rift to take over for AoC, but with that said (and it's a big but) no pun intended. Please give me some pro's and con's, for and against AoC vs. Rift. Because I'm really at a lost here between the two.
Thanks for the input gamers.

Rift is new game = fresh population , everyone moving towards same goals at same time.
AOC = stagnating game , most of people are just being bored in end game areas
That about sums it up.
Do you like PvE most?
Do you like some PvP?
Does the combat style of LOTRO bother you?
If you answered Yes to the first two and no to the third, go Rift.
It will have Tons of End Game content at launch and is a solid game (as you know having played Beta.)
Honestly if you even have doubts about whether you should continue to play a game, should be a sign.
Games should be fun. That's what's most important.
Like the others said, Rift will be very polished at launch. It will have a massive population whent he game launches, and will most likely play better for you than AoC.
It is quite difficult to recommend a game not knowing what you want though. But more than not, Rift will be a better choice.
i agree here...also....
Rift has a more "dynamic" gameplay imo then AOC
The gfx are equal when compared me thinks.
AOC is more brutal imo then Rift and more realistic (if thats what you fancy in a game)
But i realy agree with Lobo here.....its a fresh new start and i realy doubt that Rift's servers will be empty at release
Personaly i would go for Rift (altough i realy loved AOC too)
May you find the right choice on your own
good luck
Personally, I loved the potential of AoC - but they went away from interesting PvP and towards run-of-the-mill PvE. Nothing wrong with that, but not what I wanted from the game - and not what I expected either. I thought it would be a strong open world PvP game, with meaningful features - like working sieges and player bounties, etc. It was also one of the few games where I thought it would be possible for a solo PvP'er to be effective. I was wrong.
Instead, they went the safe way and emulated WoW. Financially sound, I suppose - but dreadfully dull and uninspired.
AoC is a very beautiful game with fantastic combat, but it's not evolving fast enough. I also doubt it will (really) survive the release of the strong upcoming titles, like Rift, SWTOR, TERA, and GW2. I don't like investing myself in a game that doesn't evolve and which doesn't seem sufficiently healthy to last in the long-term.
Buy Rift - give it a shot. If it doesn't work for you, go back to AoC. Not a big loss, regardless.
I'm going to play Rift until SWTOR - and if SWTOR is what I hope, I'll play that until GW2 - which I hope will be my next "big MMO".
That said, I'm kinda burned out on the genre altogether, so I'm not sure any of the above will really work for me. But they all have things to appeal, with Rift being the least interesting of the bunch. It seems mostly like a measured refinement of the current popular MMOs. Not sure the Rift and Soul aspects will be able to carry it even for the first month. I bore easily - and if they don't have something special up their sleeve - it won't last for me, personally. However, seeing as how there are so many people playing WoW - who were there from the beginning, I guess the majority don't mind retreading old ground over and over and over.
That puzzles me, but I was always difficult to please.
Lobo and DKLord are right!
It is a new game and perhaps that's what I'm looking for. Great call both of you guys. Something different might be just the ticket.
It may not be perfect, but it just might satisfy the fix.
Thank you gentlemen for your answers...
i am suprised that you still breathing on your own and not a machine that is doing it for you , do you really have to make a post on these forum asking for what game YOU want to play ? you already in the rift beta and have a feeling what the game is all about .

The guy is in doubt as to what games will offer him a better experience, and he's asking people what they think - since we might know more about the games in question - or offer an insight he hadn't considered personally.
I'm finding myself having a much easier time understanding that, than the need to put people down because they don't share your approach to decision making.
I only asked for some pro's and con's from other gamers to help me make an educated decision. Not to tell what I should do. Learn to read ya douche...
