I always have to laugh at these so called hardcore pvpers complaining about "If you don't like being ganked by 6-12 sorcerors while PvPing, don't play." Here is an example of where I'm sure ALL and I don't care who you are saying they don't mind that sorta thing: At level 42 back before 2.0 the best weapon was obtained by rifting, not once but three times. Each rift was located in a level 46+ mob camp, atleast on Elyos side. I remember litterally taking 4-8 hours to get to the rifts that is if you didn't die getting there. Okay so you get there and pass through it and spawn in the middle of asmo mobs only to be rushed out if you managed to survive once again to the asmo instance which was often camped hardcore by asmo at the front door because they knew it was a hotspot. It was never asmos of equal level oh no, not once was it fair fight. Tweaked out level 50's in migrant armor, you get bumb rush and sent back to home point only to find out the rift was closed for another 4 hours. Now you can scream and complain "You are just a carebear" then come to our point and see how frustrated you get. I'm hoping this issue is resolved in 2.5/3.0 because I made it to level 49 and just never went back, PvPvE should be isolated in the abyss where it is meant to be, or atleast remove these quests in those zones.

They ought to email old deactivated accounts with a free week or two so old players can retry the game. I'm curious to try it out again, just not curious enough to pay for it. Other MMOs do this all the time.

And the best thing about it , we dont even hav to pay for an expansion like the wow-babies.

They did this less than a month ago, so don't count on it any time soon.

The map was fine the way it was... 3D maps are always awkward to use.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

What broken PvP?  I've beaten good players of every class, but the real good players of class-A  can wipe the floor with me no problem.  LIkewise, I've seen other real good players of class-B wipe the real good player of class-A no problem.  I personally think the problem is more specifically Faction PvP.  They screwed up with the Balaur.  They said many times that the Balaur faction of NPCs were there to help keep BALANCE in the Abyss.  Truth is the Balaur NEVER posed a threat and the balance shifted to Elyos the majority of the time on nearly all servers.

Not sure what you mean by combat mechanics.  The only combat mechanic I had a problem was flight combat for melee.  I loved flight combat regardless, but getting that "cannot reach target" message unless you were having intercourse with your opponent in air was really annoying which gave ranged/casters advantage in the air.

I agree with you on the PvE whiners complaining about PvP, getting ganked (though they have no problem jumping one guy with their friends when the opportunity presents itself), that class is OP, or that guy is hacking.  Then, I go and find that so called "hack" and kill him and I'm thinking....what's the big deal?

Lol, at least in NA/EU all the hardcore PvP community quit Months ago, and after the 100% pve patch notes of the 2.5, the pvp is dead. From a PvP point of view AION is probably the worst option in the p2p Market.

Really looking forward to this update.  Will resub when they finally push this through.

I quit the game months ago, but I did resubscribe for the month of December and PvP is dead on Zikel.  However, talking to a few friends who still play and transferred to other servers they say there is PvP everywhere.  So, from what I heard Zikel is crap for PvP....3 other servers have PvP going on a lot.  But, the last server I dont' know.

Pros-Great Graphics, decent music, Great Character creation

Cons-PvE is poor at best, pretty much just tank and spank, quests are boring, story is weak.  PvP is just a gank fest or a "Who has the bigger group" battle and fortress battles ae just Zerg Rushes that take no skill.  Combat is alright but has a very jerky flow to it honestly, and moving straight to your target when you click a skill is really lame from a PvP standpoint

Overall, Aion at the very least needs to add organized PvP(Arenas, Battlegrounds, etc.) to make PvP something that's just not  a gankfest that takes no skill.  Also, the PvE REALLY needs to be improved, Dungeons are boring and some are just things that give no EXP just gear grind(FT).  Most dungeons are just tank and spank, no scripting, so interesting abilities that enemies use or anything.  BORING

One question..what level did you play up til? Because once you hit level 40 SR, Azo, and 46 Theo, the bosses do al ot more than tank and spank. 1-30ish is getting you used to playing your toon and the dungeons are not incredibly hard. Later dungeons yield better and exciting boss fights.

I challenge anyone to go to any games forums and not see people complaining. Point is people like to cry about every thing in a game.  Every game has its ups and downs so you pick the lesser of the evils.

NCSoft is clueless when it comes to designing a pvp game of any sort so that pretty much leaves out all hope for this game.

BTW don't give me that I don't know how to pvp crap, I survived happily in Felucca for 5 years.

you dont know how to pvp...lul. honestly i get sick and tired of hearing pve carebears whine about pvp. if you dont like pvp then go play a game that centers on pve...Guild wars has a lot of pve. and its pvp and pve are seperated completely so it works out perfectly. If youre getting ganked in one area then leave that area...or go do an instance or something...dont just keep going back feeding them ap. And at this point in the game most people are moderately to well geared...so rifting isnt so much of a problem anymore. if someone is ganking you just call a lvl 55 friend or two and the problem is solved(i kno sounds lame but it atleast stops the whining). and in alot of cases most low lvls are just alts who have powerful, well geared 55's...so that whole getting ganked by mobs of asmos doesnt realy apply anymore...gg...find a new argument plox.

    1. Aion DOES have organized PvP. It's called Dredgion.

2a. FT is the most boring dungeon in the game.

2b. Dungeons as a whole aren't designed for XP. If you're running dungeons for XP, you're doing it wrong.

2c. Almost every every dungeon after FT has scripted and/or technique-based boss fight.

2d. The solo dungeons are tons of fun.

Aion is not for everybody.  Out of every 10 new players I meet, usually only 2 or 3 will stay.  The game makes no attempt to be something that it's not.  2.5 looks like a great patch, but it won't convince those who already decided it's the wrong game for them.  That's perfectly fine, there are plenty of games out there to choose from.

Playing Aion since the beta, I have 6 char, two at top level, have been in "top" legions, currently in one of best legion in my server. (and that's the thing keeping me in game: the people in legion).

Aion has 2 major problems, that won't be fixed with new instances or new skills.

One is the RNG, affecting crafts and drops, that frustrates the 80% -  90% players.

The other is the so called PvpPve system that result in a gankfest if you want to level or gather, or in a lagfest if you go zerg vs zerg. And one of the worst thing are the "pvp heroes" that mock people who don't like being their spank toy.

Aion has a beauty in characters and environment that rarely can be found in other games; is an incredible rich world to play in. And is really a shame that for few bad gameplay features, is becoming boring and frustrating.
