so i got invited to Rift beta and installed it and all that but all the servers are locked? does being invited mean i gotta find a key or something? :O
The Beta servers will be coming down shortly (approx. 10 mins) for a small patch. Downtime should be approximately 30 minutes. We'll keep you posted here!

Alright - here's what's up. Servers are unstable after the update and rather than have them crash repeatedly on you (and us), we're going to kick out a new build to fix it ASAP.
The minimum ETA on this (with all proper stars aligned) is 30 minutes, with a more reasonable estimate around 1 hour.
I'll be in touch with updates throughout.

awww damn duh i just downloaded/installed it so was to excited to go read thanks man!
NP just woke up myself and wanted to play, but I'm sure it will be up pretty soon :-)

They are still patching and working on a few of the server issues. I haven't seen them be down longer than an hour at most for any patch/update.
How Trion works is if something has gone wrong with gameplay (too many mobs/not enough respawn), they fix it the day that people report on it. This is all about server balancing with these Betas. Having so many people on, they get to really bang the crap out of their system to make sure it works:)
Yes I am really impressed about the fact the listen to the players and fix problems rather fast, bodes well for future playing.
