Yeh, 'cause playing with friends sucks bad... Actually I like that.  A group of buds gets together to all play together.  It sounds rather nice than dropping $50 on a game and sometimes seeing  them on or playing at odd times to play.  And, the commitment to playing sounds nice too so you won't be speind money and be the only one playing an mmo.  I can see the security aspect of it.  I'm not saying that's how I roll or am looking to roll, but I can understand the desire to do it.  Shutting it down seems rather harsh.

I enjoy the hoopla that goes with entering a beta hoping it will be done right and have a minimum of lag, freezes, strange happenings and...stuff.  I was surprised at how smooth the Rift beta has been, smoother than most games ever get. Shocked!! ..and pleasently surprised.

The name is the first thing I go for. I have an old one I had been using since early muds.  It was only in the past few years it has become popular and I just don't even try for it any more...who wants a common name that seems over used now.  Grumble.

I don't sit down with a days worth of junk food but I do make sure there is something to drink and a nice quad cappaccino.

     Time?   Never enough.

The points of this article (and of the first comment, which is even more basic and informative for those who haven't given the question previous thought) are precisely what needs to be done-- in almost all cases-- in order to 'just" enjoy the game.

Simple enjoyment without effort and preparation is mostly a pipe dream, and that goes for gaming as for nearly everything else in life.
