The 7 day free trial has been opened up again for anyone who wants to sample the game or if your an ex player and want to see the changes that have been made recently. (You need to create a new station username if you want to try this trial) Core Combat expansion is not included though.

Remember, patience is key in this game. It may be a little hard to get into, but if you give it a chance, it can be REALLY worth it.
It seems like life is returning to the game lately. Christmas is always a good time for Planetside, the Devs give us all santa hats and leave presents around.
Thank you to anyone who gives PS a chance. Hope you enjoy it.

i dont really wont to play it at all even for a trial just a waist of HDD space theres manay free FPS that can now have 100+ pll in 1 servers so i dont see the reason to pay a monthly fee

I've not found it yet? PS is not just another FPS.... not by a long way!
I signed up for key in the morning, Then I went to the mall, I got back here like 3 horus later, still no cd key.
bah i was playing forever huge ass battle first time then ive been playing last few hours havent seen 1 guy not enough people i deleted it

You should of squaded with people, PS is not a Solo game to go wandering around a huge landscape!!
It's 100% PvP remember, your not going to find anything else to kill.
Just hit instant action if you want to kill stuff, or join a squad or qutfit if you want some depth to your gameplay, It's quiet during the day I wont deny, but it's NEVER empty.
Remember, patience is key in this game.
If you want patience... try WWIIO... Certainly not newbie friendly and takes forever to kill your first person (it's not so much a matter of skill as it is a matter of how large the maps are and how slow/realistic travel is).

JOp's is not a persistant world. 30 minute games (Average), server resets. Rinse repeat.
One map theme, Jungle, lots of it, and then some more.
Team Work? If your in a Clan maybe, and arrange games and can make the game. If not. Team Work is hard to find.
150 player maximum. (Which is pretty good, but perfomance isn't great though on a server this big)
No character advancement. Differn't loadouts (Sniper, grunt ect) so one player can do all, drive all and does not nead to rely on other players.
PlanetSide is not like other FPS.... not by a long way.
WTF?!!? I'm doing training cause i'm totally new to this game but when I get to "Vehicle usage" it dosent give me temporary access to the harraser, all it says is click the harraser icon to continue...but there isnt one!!!
...so I cant continue

Well, I cant blame you Marcopolo to promote a game you like but that Planetside game is dying (I kept an eye on this promising game since pre beta, check the official forums).
When I played last september, i could only see 1 large battle. Rest of the time small skirmishes. I even had to create another account on the US server (emerald, most "populated" to see someone).
They had to merge US servers and population is still droping, droping...(dont be fooled by the new people on werner (euro server), i think it's just because of those trial account, you can get 6+ cd keys from same computer (ip adress i guess (?) one per email adress).
I tried it for a month and while i had some fun 1st week, game got boring faaaaast. This game also look not finished (even if it's more then 1 year old). And lag can be terrible. And the monthly subscription is just too much. Paying each month for for that kind of game ?!! lol.
And my final word, this game is under SOE control, and i hate those evil blood (money) suckers.

Hi my name is Nutss, Im a commander of the New Conglomerate on Werner. New Conglomerate is one of the 3 empires you can play for.
I've been playing for over 1.5 years now and still love this game. There is no other MMOG out there like Planetside. I've played Ultima Online for 3.5 years, am a big RPG fan and to a lesser extent a FPS fan. However PS combines the FPS element with community element found in MMORPG's. It's great!!
When you create a character be sure to make it on the server closest to you (Europe = Werner), not just for ur connection, but for the amount of ppl online during battles
Since Planetside has NO NPC's, everything evolves around other people. You need them to fight with and against.

I've played it ever since. I tell you, its a real quality game and nothing is like it.
Every day new aspects surprises me.
The only thing I regret with Planetside is that I've payed 1 month subscribtion all the time, but now I'm done with that. Saving up for a year.
You should at least try the 7 day trial.

Planetside is maximum 19.99 USD for Aftershock(Planetside+Core Combat Expansion) includes 1 month of subscribtion. Aftershock includes the patches up to the BFRs, meaning you can get to play almost right away without patching for a long time.
Subscribtion fee is 12.99 USD. Since the USD currency is currently low for Europeans, it will be a bargain(remember the EU tax on sub fees though, 17.5%)
Anyways, I've played Anarchy Online for more than a year, I was betatester on it. I loved it back then but now I don't give a damn. I can't imagine myself sitting in a cavern anymore, waiting for a mob to spawn just to see some uber player who had set his eggclock blitz by faster than I can blink... Smashing the mob and looting what I wanted.
If you like FPS, teamwork and even strategy, Planetside is what you should try.
I'm done with MMORPGs, Planetside stole my heart and showed me MMOFPS.
Everything is player versus player based, and 2/3 of the population wants to taste my gun. No dumb generated AI mob that walks in circles with a sticker on the back saying "kill me for lewt and xp".
