Calamities are of two kinds: Misfortune to ourselves and good fortune to others
they will pro;by do a release system close to EQ 1, they will probly do either Kunark or Fay in the first expansion, which they have probly been working on since b4 EQ 2 was released, you know how with lead programmers and designers, it is alla bout money, and ggetting as much content out for the expansions in as little time as possible to make as much money as fast as possable, they are just gonna ruin EQ 2, liek th ey did EQ 1, but i still play EQ 1, but it is almost ruined
If they reopened all those areas, that would be an awful lot of underwater content.
Nektulos Forest is in Odus IIRC, and that is already open. I'm only 25, so I haven't explored much past that and Antonica, but I know Everfrost is in, which is part of Velious.
I can't remember what else might be in already, because I can't find the EQ/EQ2 map overlay that at one point I did see online somewhere. Searched google, no luck.

...last I knew, Velious had melted due to Luclin exploding, therefore covering Kunark with ocean. Sooo uh, I'm hoping none of those areas get realesed because I'm not up for astroid hopping or fighting underwater all the time.
Some planes would be cool. Or something even cooler, something totally NEW! AHH!!!
I am really disappointed that all of those continents are gone though. I was under the impression that EQ2 was going to start at the same size as EQ1 is now, but it doesn't seem that way. I just like knowing that I will always have somewhere new to go I guess.

.............Nektulos wasn't on Odus, it was on Antonica, before that continent got busted, it was north of the commanlands, and south of lavastorm. Everfrost was also part of Antonica, the very northern tip of it. Antonica was that big middle continent.
Eq2 only features the old continent of Antonica, after it got earthquake to death and hit by meteors. The overlay maps don't help much. Most of the current islands in Eq2 have drifted from where their positions were on the old continent.
All of the other continents, well, no one really knows yet, after the cataclysm the seas became impassable due to the roughness and all the storms caused by all that has happened. Thus giving the devs alot of le-way on what to do for the next expansions. And with all the change that Antonica has gone trough, i would not be suprised if theo ther continents got changed all around too.

You're right on that stuff.
There are a TON of dungeon areas though, so overall area may be the same or more than original EQ had. Original EQ seems kinda small after Velious, Kunark, etc... now that I think about it.
I would be up for some totally new stuff. Maybe this time the extra stuff will be INSIDE the world!
I hope they're more creative than I.

I would be shocked if SOE wasn't working on an expansion even before EQ2's rushed release. It's barely even worth counting EQ1's expansions. That's one of the biggest sources of my reluctance when choosing a MMORPG, how badly are they going to gouge me if I keep playing?

Doubt there is any company that has not rushed a release. In short,EQ2 can argue it was ready for release since it had a very smooth launch compared to many other mmropg including one that got released just 2 weeks or so after it(no names give as to avoid a flame war).
So SoE can say EQ2 was more ready and less rushed for release then many mmorpg we seen, even though i know it was rushed.
But just pointing out to you all mmorpg are rushed and never completed at release,at least to some degree.
Anyhow off topic as was the post i quoted.
I am thinking they will bring back odus myself.Planes is a possibility but it would almost certainly be a raid area and the game is too young to have a raid only expansion.
I don't think the planes will be back anytime soon. Part of the EQ2 story line was about how the Gods got pi$$ed at the upstart mortals humiliating them on their home planes.
Still there are plenty of choices left. Lets hope the next expansion has instanced dungeons for solo play, or maybe some sort of tradeskill dungeon, you need to craft certain items to help you escape, and the drops are the rare tradeskill foraged items.
