Its either i couldnt find anybody to fight Or there was just too many people that it wasnt even fun.

Sometimes it can be hit and miss.  Last night we had a full group and a half of people ready to go out and cause trouble when we get attacked from a group.  Don't think they were expecting the strong resistance.  Was great fun.  Then drunk boat fridays, woot.

This game needs to get away from that mentality though.  The game needs to be about more than pvp.  With the upcoming changes and expansion it appears we are going in the right direction.

    Will update the OP.

'We are mostly working on the next expansion. The next expansion has two prongs: one involves a complete overhaul and dramatic streamlining of the world and complete redistribution of all its features. The second prong has to do with a competitive component on a completely level playing field for all players. In addition this expansion involves a completely new interface, the new environmental sound system, major changes to the crafting system, armor selection directly affecting your gameplay choices and much more.  The workload is insane and we are in crunch mode because our deadline is in early Q2 2011 for this launch. This expansion combines all our Darkfall knowledge and player feedback over the past two years. We will be releasing a lot more specific information as time progresses and we’d like to include a lot of your feedback during this process. We’d like to thank you for the feedback on the armor specialization system, it was extremely helpful.

We are looking into much of your feedback over time: More meaningful player achievements in both PvP and PvE are underway. Improvements in the alignment system. Taking steps to improve the character progression experience, more epic endgame content but also new and intermediate character direction. We’ll be improving our many existing features, redoing some of them and expanding on others. We’ll be streamlining clan cities and making them more meaningful.'

As for population, I don't know about NA-1 but don't pretend EU-1 is dead. There are plenty of places to go if you want a good fight, just don't expect to be getting them every 10 mins riding around into the wilderness, people are in their cities or valuable spawns/dungeons.

    More?!?!

these threads can very easily get filled with douches.

If the game decided to implement AI on more than just mobs, I mean, why have NPC's that stand in one place forever?

    If the graphics looked realistic

    If the sounds sounded realistic.

If the UI was more user friendly instead of a clunky bunch of windows

Then too me they would start moving this game in the right direction/

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the amount of condescending attitudes that people can have on a game forum.

C'mon. Act like you have honor.

If you dont know what I meant when I said AAA standards, then ask what I meant. Instead of attempting to be an internet tough guy, because I can assure you that you do not act that way in person.

If you believe the term AAA standards means something other than the best, then you are allowing PR people and marketers to define your life on their terms.

Do you also allow magazines to judge whos hotter when it comes to women?

Do you let the news tell you what to think?

ohhh, but you let some cheap chineese game developer redefine the standards behind a AAA title...hmmmm

Wrong, you won't have those self-buffs but you should have a friend there to buff you. People who have magic tend to keep their encumberance below a certain level and that involves wearing armour with lesser protections, plus the fact whenever they get a staff out you can do killer damage.

You don't need to be destroyer to be pro in melee but anyone who is serious about fighting upclose will have too much magic encumberance to be throwing damaging spells around/casting self buffs.

you missed the point entirely well done its quite impressive. an mage in light armour with low ecumberance will have more arrow protection than a destroyer in heavy armour with high ecumberance.

yeah buff others work but they are short and no way you will have them up all the time. anyway I was talking solo pvp.

You're wrong, self buffs provide hardily anything compared to the other buffs, maxed out other buffs (not SC buffs) can last a decent amount of time. Also never refer to a solo fight in Darkfall, it rarely happens unless you're ganking farmers.

have fun getting someone to cast those spells on you every 30 seconds. the self buffs have less effect but last about 10 times longer. theres lots of solo pvp to be had, or used to be. maybe you just dont go out solo but hide in your city walls, even defending and raiding cities I used to do on my own half the time.

anyway its a pointless arguement. destroyer can be ok if you in a group and you have 0 magic skills anyway or have a full set of infernal. the rest of the time its utter crap imo, but I am abit of a lone wolf. hopefully the prestige classes are decent. never in darkfall has anything been nearly as pvp viable as hybrid of everything.

Dynamic lighting???  I play DF but give me a break, they cant even add something like sounds, well short of the delayed swinging sound, the footsteps and music thats turned off.  Like i said i play it and like it for what it is but I no longer buy into this BS.

    DF marketing for 2011-

Come play our game were gonna add sounds!!
