What else is there to do in rift?

Aside from combat, rifts (which is combat..), and crafting? What if you get tired of fighting? Is there anything else to do e.g tournaments and/or activities?

Thank you.

Collections and some exploration based achievements.  Nothing else I can think of besides that.

    It hasn't launched yet but.....

I could totally see competitions come up for Role Play perposes.

    1. swimming the channel competition.

    2. dance off

    3. hoping to see other things added like cooking and fishing,,,could also be made into competitions.

    4. combat....oh...err that is not an option...nm

Well, I suppose there could be live events, and the like, but I don't know. As for things other than fighting and crafting, the above mentioned artifact collecting is the only thing that really comes to mind. Of course, people will no doubt come up with social things to do, especially on RP servers, but aside from that, most games don't have much else to do.

Vanguard had(has?) diplomacy(which is really pretty cool), and some games have housing which you can decorate(which is a HUGE pastime in EQ2... like, crazy huge), but that's about all I can think of.

I know that the games dungeons will have replayability although that will ofcourse be combat. When you return to the dungeons in expert mode, you'll see new areas and bosses, bosses will be different and the story within some dungeons will advance so you'll see what's changed. That's a neat idea to make you want to re-do the games dungeons on a higher difficulty.

There is also PvP in the Warfronts, but we haven't seen the whole game yet.

I agree with Alders! Artifact Hunting is incredibly addicting.

I'm thinking of getting a bumper sticker that says, "I stop for artifacts!" Just because I found myself doing outrageous things just to complete one set. OCD people beware!

You could go around trying to get achievements.  I am not one for the cheeves, but they are there to get and collect like the pokemons!

I am too - especially after my mage got a nice purple staff for a reward for one set.

I was climbing all kinds of obstacles and finding shinnies in the most unlikely places. I love exploring. Finding goodies while doing it is a real bonus.

Favorite achievment I got over the last beta was "Are you Nuts" jumping off the tower in Gloamwood good to see the devs have a sense of humor.
